Seatbelt Rubs my wife the wrong way

My wife is just under 5' tall, or short, depending on your perspective.

I'm thinking of replacing the factory shoulder/lap combo with 3 or 4 pt harness. Before I make the switch, I'm wondering if anyone knows if these restraints will be more comfortable for a short person?

My other option is to just lower the shoulder mount point but then she will still just have the useless combo. OK for highway but useless off road.

Not sure EXACTLY what the issue is that she's having................BUT
I have heard that a lot of the shorter individuals have installed Seat
Risers / Spacers. Not sure if that may help in Her situation or not,
but it's something you might give consideration to.

Good thought! Thanks,CoyoteOn2

My wife is also 5' (if she stands up straight) and I put 2" seat risers on her side and not only does the seatbelt sit right, she can see over the dash

PRP makes a two inch 4 or five point belt that has a regular stock seat belt clip. I got this for my wife who also has problems with stock seat belts. She likes it better that the belt in our Liberty.

I tried leaving her home but she just drinks all my liquor and breaks my stuff...better to have her along... :-)

Hilarious!!!

Mine's 5' also (on a good day) and a wee 105lbs and I have Mastercraft 4 points and MC Rubicon seats. They adjust to fit her just fine. One of the last trips out I had my buddy ride shotgun who is 6'5" and easily 300+. He was able to adjust the belts to suit him as well. They're working well for me...

Thanks, Baja1ab, good to know.

There is a reason my wife cant get in my vehicles...
If she cant drive them, she cant screw them up...

And if she ever tries, its not only obvious, but expensive.

If we go some place together, I drive HER Yukon...

If you are bound and determined, good luck, i would think anything that changes the seat configuration would compromise safety.

Master4th 04-02-2012 10:50 PM

Safetey would be my main concern. You dont want a seatbelt unbolting while in a collision.

Susiee 04-02-2012 11:57 PM

im a bit taller than 5 feet and i fit just fine..
my bf though is short too and he would always complain about my jeep

so i would rather take my dog out too

spunebil 04-03-2012 05:13 AM

I have summit racing seats and corbeau safety harness and all she (5") complains of is that her feet dont reach floor! Lol
