Bucking and serging(distributor)?
I have a 97 Wrangler Sport 4.0.
I want to change the stator (CPS) on the distributor.
Can I do this with the distributor in the engine? What is involved beside taking the screws out?
Code 12 3 flashes Code 21...3 flashes 55.
Code 12 is common and really means nothing.
Code 55 is end of message.
Code 21 is oxygen sensor. There are two of them. Get a scanner and read which one needs to be changed.
Went to Autozone today to have them scan.
These are the printed results:
Troubleshnooting PO132> Heated O2 sensor, bank 1 sensor HO25111 high voltage.
O2 sensor defective. Fuel system running rich. Check other codes 1st. High fuel pressure-fuel return line blocked or pressure regulator defective. Fuel pressure regulator leaking.
PO138: Fuel system running lean or rich. check other code 1st. Engine misfire>repair. Fuel pressure very high or low fuel pump or pressure regulator.
So, this is telling me what?
What I know is that The tank was replaced and a used fuel pump assembly was put in 8 months ago. I'm not really wanting to pay for new pump until I get an idea that this, indeed, is the problem. Pump with labor will be around $700, which means I'll probably drop it myself.
Any input would be much appreciated. Don.
