Newb 1st Time Doorless

1 Attachment(s)
Holy hell!

1st time jeeper, just took the doors off today and went for a spin. I almost lost my hat half a dozen times and was cackling with laughter the whole way.

I have to say, when I 1st got my JK last October I was a little bummed because I occasionally find some raindrops on the passenger floor. But now that the weather has taken a turn for the better and I've got a better taste for what the wrangler is capable of, I am hopelessly in love with it. What a rush!

Cheers

Nice.

Soon enough, it's still a little chilly in upstate NY. Just wanted to head out today for a quick fix.

Matador 04-04-2012 01:10 PM

Now buy some side mirrors so you can see. It's nice but sometimes I feel the need for mirrors

Plan to. For the time being I did the "blind spot mirror on the air vent" mod. Nice trick for $3.

For the OP, watch that back window being down without doors and driving around. The air that is rushing in now from both sides heavily has no where to go and will be putting a lot of force/pressure against your rear window. You can leave it up to drive around small distances and at slower speeds but you still have to watch out for debris and such. My advice as with many is to simply take the top off completely when door less. Being careful about your rear window should also be considered if your driving around with the freedom panels removed and the doors are still on. Either way watch your speed and avoid the interstate when riding without the panels or doors and the hard top is still on.

I always open the back window or else I feel completely wind blown. it gets exhausting after driving like that with the sun rider and windows down when the back window isn't rolled up. good advice.

I'm learning a lot on this forum, what to do and what not to do. Much appreciated.

Is it common for this kind of driving (sans doors only) to result in a damaged rear window?
