new jeep time

so a few months back i sold my cj5 and i miss it but it was just becoming a money hog. i ride a motorcycle 8 months out of the year and my dodge ram is just sitting in the drive costing me way to much money a month. i have the wife talked into letting me get a tj or cheap jk if it will cut my payments a bunch and i think it will. no better mileage but thats why i have a bike.

these are the ones im looking at
2005 Jeep Wrangler Sport, $16,330 - Cars.com

2006 Jeep Wrangler X, $17,000 - Cars.com

and i found a yellow 06 unlimited in the same range but farther away. any thoughts.

Out of them two I would buy the one with the lowest miles.
Just my 02.

can't hurt to get the one with lower miles. it isn't as pretty as the white but at least it was used less just basing that off the odometer reading. it's up to you...maybe get some more equity in that truck then sell it off if you aren't suffering too bad. good luck with the decision!

I'd do the 2006 since it has almost 35k less miles and I'm sure you can talk them down the $700 to make the price the same then upgrade the wheels/tires.

Yeah im not going to get a Jeep. The dealer ship that had thinks it s gold and I'm trading in a turd. Best they would do is straight trade nee out of my 07 ram loaded. They low baled me and I didn't care for their attitude. 05 is not going to happen.

If you are patient, then private transactions are the best ways to maximize your sale price and keep your purchase price reasonable.

IMO the vehicle at $17k price might be worth the price because of the low miles, but the $16.3k vehicle is way overpriced for the mileage. My 06 X with 71k just cost me $11.8k because I was patient and snapped up what was probably a distress sale on Craigslist. I had just sold my truck a week earlier on Craigslist for more than I wanted for it because it was priced competitively with rigs with much higher mileage on them.

the whole point of swapping vehicles was to lower a payment on something i dont dirve alot. i can just refi my truck and not have these problems.

Good luck. I like the 06 for the fact it only has 14k miles. Puts some new wheels/tires and you'll be all set.

Well the o6 fell threw. They wanted to give me 6 k below rough for my truck. They kept throwing mile per gallon of the truck in my face. Thank you fueleconomy.gov for proving there wasn't a difference. But on the flip side I did some swindling and got a new 11jk with a hard top for a deal I am pleased with.

you will enjoy the jk, but there are times you will miss the truck. glad you got a deal you are happy with.
