allengba 04-30-2012 08:04 AM

Well I mean there's power lines, undeveloped neighborhoods, and service trails. Just don't get caught :P

Pullsout 04-30-2012 02:22 PM

Thats just looking for trouble.

Attitudes and thinking like this is why wheeling opurtunities are vastly limited in most states east of the rockies and why trails are being shut down all across the us every year.

It' doesn't have to be legal just don't get caught.. NO NO NO NO NO! IF IT'S NOT LEGAL DON'T GO THEIR!!! And if you are so desired to wheel in that "illegal" spot ask the permision of the land owner then only if they say it's OK does it go from illegal to legal for you and you only (along with anyone else you get permision to have with you). If they say no, Guess what no means no..

Rant Over

Pullsout 04-30-2012 03:59 PM

Well put xj

allengba 05-01-2012 12:21 AM

If there WERE MORE wheeling and offroading places to go closer by where I didn't have to do "illegal wheeling" then I would go to those trails instead.

Dude! there are plenty of legal wheeling opurtunities where you are.. I know this cause I have friends in the Raleigh area. This also includes URE which is only like an hour or so away from you and that place is freaking awesome. You are very very lucky.. where I live I have to travel 2 hours minimum to wheel legally and thats just for some tight forest trails. If I want a real challenge I got to drive alot farther.

Im not sure if you've seen this thread http://www.wranglerforum.com/f23/tra...55993-107.html or not yet but they will guide you twoards the legal spots as the group that hangs in that theads seems to go out wheeling at least once a month

allengba 05-02-2012 01:42 PM

Electric Fans thread?

And I'm meaning closer then Uwharrie. It's an hour and a half away from house and 85 miles away; which is a full tank of gas for me.

You got to pay to play and most arent as fortunate as only having to go 85 miles to park as great as URE. Now not only is there that thread and the north carolina section here at wf but find out who the local offroad clubs are and get involved with them.. What ever you do STOP TRESPASING. STOP OFFROADING ILLEGALY. One tank of gas is nothing compaired to the cost of getting caught and pretty sure two of the places the people go to in the thread I posted above go to are even closer then URE for you.. PLEASE DON'T GO WERE YOUR NOT SUPOSE TO BE CAUSE WHEN YOU DO IT HURTS ALL OF THOSE THAT CHOOSE PARTICIPATE IN THIS HOBBY LEGALLY.

This is North Carolina. Offroading illegally is a very good way to get shot.

Or at least shot at. And if you don't get shot, the cops have no qualms about tossing you in the back of a squad car and impounding your Jeep if they feel like a ticket alone isn't going to cut the mustard.

85 miles isn't terribly far, and there are spots around here where the owner has given permission or wheeling has been going on for decades. My suggestion would be to check out the "Trails in Raleigh" thread linked earlier, and stay off the known illegal trails. :thumb:

I'm not going on other peoples property. Just some power lines, service roads, and undeveloped neighborhoods. Places where the cops aren't actually going to see me do it at.
