93 Wrangler radio wiring help

Just picked up a 93 Wrangler. Love it, but the PO left me with some work to do. Had to fix a bunch of things and the radio is one of them.

Just wondering if someone could help me out with the radio wiring. I searched and it seems like I have different colors than what most have.

Here's what the PO left me with

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Doesn't look like that is what I have.

I have:

Red
Black
Pink
Purple
Orange
Brown/Red?
Orange/White
Green/White
Blue/White
Blue/Red
Purple/Orange
Brown/Yellow
Brown/Blue

I'm baffled. Going to just browse different Jeep models to see if I can match up the colors I guess. The harness and everything looks factory and Im positive that it is a 1993. Could it be different because it's a Sahara?

i would recommend hitting it with a test light. once you find your constant and switched power you can ground it out somewhere under the dash. at that point, worst case, you can run new speaker wires. thats pretty much what i did in mine.

Yeah I think that's what Im going to do. Found out the Pink wire is constant and Red is switched. Black is the ground. Going to run new speaker wires. Just curious now to know what harness my Jeep has.

I don't understand why people cut the plug off. My PO was kind enough to simply tuck the plug up inside the dash. Once I pulled out their crappy Jenson radio I found the plug intact and was able to simple plug my new stereo in with an adapter.

Does this link help?

I found it so much easier to just start from scratch and run new clean wires to everything. Just push that nasty bundle to the side and run your own.

Did you ever find out the diagram?

I have the same wire setup with no original harness..

This is what I mean by people who hack up Jeeps. It sucks. Mainly, it hurts the next owner the most. I would suggest that you go to a junk yard or call a few and see if they have that CB connection where they can reach all the local yards. Tell them that you need the radio harness for a '93 Wrangler. Once you find it, get an aftermarket harness, plug it in to the original, and the aftermarket harness will supply you with the wiring diagram based on the new wires.

But, I agree that its probably best to run all new speaker wires.

I generally find power, ground , and constant 12v in what is left of the factory wiring and then run all new speaker wires. That way you can be sure that the speakers are all in phase. And you still retain factory fuse locations.
