I think ESP will chime in eventually. Could have sworn I've seen a picture from him with a car seat in his 2dr. Maybe the wrong guy....

I have had my 6 year old and 5 year old in the back of my '11 2D many times with car seats. Not sure about a rear facing seat though.

My 3yr old's favorite thing is to drive around with the top down and the doors off.My wife hates it though. But its 2 to 1 in a vote. The men win!:punk:

We've had ours for about a month now, and I'm very glad I was overruled when it came to slecting the number of doors our new JK would have. The dealer let us borrow a 2dr and getting my 5 year old buckled in was kind of a hassle, I had to actually climb in to reach the buckle. I really could not imagine dealing with a rear-facing seat in a two door. It can be done but from where I am now the extra $$ for the back doors was worth every penny.

I can put my granddaughter's rear facing car seat in the back of my 2012 2 door JK. It is a bit of a squeeze but it can be done. And it works better if you or the passanger in the front seat are short.

Heck, I've got a 4-door and found that I couldn't put my son's rear-facing seat behind me without pushing the drivers seat up to the point that it was uncomfortable. Ended up putting him on the passenger side until he was big enough for a forward-facing seat.
Of course, you could always opt for a car seat with a smaller footprint. We had a Peg Perego Primo (something-or-another) when our daughter was born. That one was MUCH smaller than the average Graco, Cosco, etc that you see everywhere.

I have a regular forward facing car seat behind the passenger seat in my jks. My 3yo fits just fine. Even if my wife is riding with us she only has to move her seat forward two clicks which still gives her plenty of room. To get him in or out I put the seat forward and stand him on the rear floorboard. He can get in and out of his seat on his own. I just reach in and buckle him in and pull the harness tight. If he was still in a rear facer I would mount it right in the middle of the seat and use the inner most LATCH points. With it in the middle it would not intrude into the front too bad. That's where I mounted his rear facer in my Dakota quad cab which did not have much more leg and seat room than my jks. Also a rear facer would be a snap to get in and out because the base stays in place and the seat snaps in and out with you securing the baby in the seat before snapping it in.

I know this is an outdated thread but can someone tell me do the JKs (looking at a 2012 2dr) have the child safty seat anchors in the back or is the car seat secured using the seat belts.

They have the LATCH hooks, and the anchors behind the seat.
