body shops in chicago?

bought my jeep in feb and is needing some body work and paint. I am in west burbs of chicago. i have rust spots by the back tail gate that needs taking care of and also some tiny spots on the doors and also would like the door hinges and window hinges redone. The hood needs redone and the grill i want replaced but those can wait just want the rust done. any one know of a shop the is fair on price and will do a good job on making sure the rust wont come back.

Autowerks, what's your shop address? Always have small and big projects wanted to be done.

I am right off Shermer and Willow, 1827 Janke Drive in Northbrook. Ask for me, Ron or if I am not around let them know you are a friend from WF. I drive the lined black forest green JKU thats always in front

I pick up my jeep for autowerks on Monday. I'm happy with the work. They did a bunch of different changes - lift, tires, wheels, bumpers, lights, speedo gear. Ron kept me in the loop when fixing it - good people. I'm already thinking about what I want autowerks change next.
I would recommend the shop if you are looking for a jeep guy.

How are there prices

cahill4225 04-19-2012 06:46 AM

Reasonable, granted it was a large bill but I had a lot of things done. I also had some body work done to fix a couple of rust spots in the back. I wanted to get the lion share of my modifications done at one time. I knew it was going to be $$. I went a little nuts and instead of breaking it up into a couple of trips the auto shop I did it in one trip. The q-tec website sucked me in. I kept on ordering stuff. It went from just fixing the rust part to ok might as well change the bumpers since it's going to be in the shop. Then since I'm changing the bumpers what about tires/wheels - well then I should get a lift. I'm sure you guys can see how it went.

I know right! Just 1 thing after another on jeeps, either upgrades or fixes. Often times are both... the list is just on and on...

The bodywork was the cheapest part of your project. Sorting out some rusted bolts and the previous owners interesting work was the hard part

feel free to stop by anytime. we always have some eye candy laying around. although my website is fancy and we do some really high end work our prices are always fair and based off standard insurance rates

shug11 09-20-2012 09:49 AM

Don't mean to hijack the thread.. but I recently bought my cousin's 97 TJ which has been neglected in the past. It has a couple dents from accidents he never bothered with as well as a weird steering problem. I'm hoping this can be an ongoing project for me but id like the professionals to try n fix the steering problem as I feel its a major issue.

So expect a visit from me soon. Just excuse my ignorance when it comes to Jeeps..
