Tire Fitment on Stock JK
 
I got my '12 JK on Tuesday night. Its a Sport with 225/75/R16 (29"x8.5") on plain wheels. Im wanted to go with a black alloy wheel, probably a M/T Classic II in black.

But my question to you guys is will a 265/75/R16 fit on a stock Sport JK without any rubbing issues?

Any info would be appreciated, Thanks

Height-wise, you'll be fine. As for width, you're right in the gray area. The tire size you're looking at is under 11" wide. Some people run them and have no problems. Others experience some rubbing of the air dam or steering stops, which can be fixed by trimming (air dam) or adding washers to the steering stops (which will reduce your turning radius a little bit, but will stop the rubbing on full-lock turns).

You could also get some rubbing on your front suspension. Only way to fix that – without buying rims with the proper backspacing – would be to use wheel spacers. (I don't THINK you'd have an issue with the suspension rubbing with those tires, but you never know).

Thanks man. Id rather not run a wheel spacer though. I think theyre just bad news and theyre also illegal in Pennsylvania

I hear you...I'm not fond of wheel spacers, myself. Much better to simply get wheels w/proper backspacing, IMO. :thumb:
