Have you gotten this yet? I was curious how the fit was in the '11 and '12 since the cargo area is different than the '07 - '10 models.

Please post pics and a review if possible. I am really curious if this is worth the $600-$700 in fit, appearance, and sound. Thanks!

I would never pay that much for that setup. $450 at the most and only 300 watts.

You are paying for the enclosure more than the equipment. I would rather buy the box empty, but it doesn't come that way. I really want something that is going to not take up a ton of space and is not eye candy to every passerby. This is the slickest looking enclosure I have seen that takes up minimal space.

Do you have other enclosure suggestions?

Not sure if it is what you are looking for but you could do something like this

Select Increments Stealth-Pod Portable 10" subwoofer enclosure for Jeeps Fits 1976-86 CJ7 / Scrambler and all 1976-up Wrangler models at Crutchfield.com

Problem is hiding the amp still.

Yea, I have seen this one. I wasn't nuts about the plastic enclosure (I understand wood is better?) and thought it might make the tailgate rattle as it is mounted to the tailgate.

Got it for cost...just under 5.

Jma20a 04-28-2012 10:20 AM

i would keep the enclosure and sell the sub and amp and put in a better setup. it looks like it has enough room for most 10" subs. with only 300 watts and being all the way in the back there isn't going to be much bass for what you spent. anything over 600 would be loud enough for you to hear it with the top down.

Hell ya :punk:... sorry no pics yet, but it looks just like the web site picture below. I hope to get some pics up by the weekend... anyway sounds good to me
And although I have mine secured, its made so you can access the jack by lifting it up... I just tossed my jack & handle under the rear seat

Thanks. I am looking forward to see your pics. Are you able to set anything on top of this unit?

Yep. You could put cinder blocks on it if you want to.
The bass is not ear bleeding, bad ass, window shaking as some like.. that's not what I wanted. Combined with a manual switch, its easy to have good bass with the hard top on. Then top off...turn the knob that I mounted inside the console to crank the bass..and sounds good doing 60 on the highway
Combined with JL speakers all around...sounds great

How are you liking the Kenwood HU? I was looking at that same one myself. Did you install any of it yourself?

Sorry no time for pics yet... same reason I had the install done... no time:facepalm:
Anyway Im gonna trade in the 6990 for the 9990. The 69 does everything great, the areas on touch screen are alittle to small for big hands. Anyway I had the 730N in my WK2 and this thing blows it outta the water speed.. hell ya, no pause between channel surfing on sirus.. get to watch Ipod or dvd videos....I try not to do this but I prefer live music over studio(in most cases) the 6990 allows video playback full screen, or 25 % with track info etc on the rest
It swiches from HD radio to ipod, back to xm all in milli seconds...no pause, for me just user error pressing wrong spots on screen. I have steering wheel controls, and it comes with a remote... but on screen is so much faster
