Teraflex Leveling Lift Kit
 
Has anyone installed a leveling lift kit? I'd like to eliminate the factory rake in my 2012 JKU and this kit seems like a decent way to go. I don't have plans in install a big lift or run much bigger tires in the near future so the overall extra 1" would be ok with me. It seems like a relatively easy install and is very inexpensive. Just looking for any experiences with this kit or advice.

I have it on mine. It looks great. Dirt cheap way t get an extra little height needed for 33's on the trail

Thinking of doing the same for same reasons. Are you adding the 2 inch up front and 1 inch rear, or just 1 inch in front?

The Teraflex leveling kit I installed on mine lifted it 2" in the front and 1" in the rear. I like the look and feel. Cheap too!! :cool: If I remember right it was $127. Good luck and take before and after pics.

Yeah I want 2" in the front and 1" in the rear. The price I saw was $130 for the kit with just the spacers. The kit with coils was around $350 or so.

The kit with coils is called the "Performance" leveling kit. But for the price if you're in the market for that, you might as well just go with a full coil lift, or coils and shocks.

The $130 leveling kit is much simpler. :thumb:

I think the simple leveling kit is more what I'm looking for. I contemplated both but I think the simple kit is going to win.

Exactly.

My point was that there's really no need to buy the "performance" leveling kit. It's an unnecessary "tweener." :)

TF Leveling Kit and New Rubi takeoffs(springs 18/59 & shocks). Both got a 2.5" of lift up front, 1.5" in the rear with this setup.

I installed this kit as well on my 2012 Sport. I found some rubicon take off shocks for 60 bucks and installed them as well. Very happy with the setup. Great ride (probably cause the rubicon shocks), enough clearence for 33s and looks great. I picked up my kit from rompalicious.com for 117 shipped.

On a side note... If you have a sport model, I suggest finding Sahara/rubicon shocks to upgrade. The sport shocks are a joke. They are easily compressed by hand which means they probably are not doing a good enough job of dampening. The rubicon ones you cannot compress by hand easily.

How is this leveling kit with aftermarket steel bumpers with 33 inch tires. Leaning towards this route with full width front bumper and rear with tire carrier. Dont want to have to do lift twice in my Sport S.

It'll depend on your current stock spring rates. The leveling kit spacers themselves won't compress...it's your springs that will sag.

If you've got weaker springs (like 14/55), you'll experience much more sag than if you've got the stiffest Mopar springs, which are 19/60 and cost something like $175 shipped from Mopar.

You can find out your current spring rates by crawling under the Jeep and reading the tag. By the bar code on the tag is a series of #'s and letters...the last two #'s in the sequence is your spring strength.

To get a rough idea of how much spring sag you'll experience, sit on the front and rear bumpers. Just remember that even the heaviest aftermarket bumpers are only a little over 100 lbs.

The ride will be nearly the same as stock with a couple of minor differences.

The front will feel a bit "lighter" with the leveling kit and the stock bumper. This changes as soon as a bumper and winch are added.

The second bit is an improvement, the leveling kit reduces dive during braking. The result is more "confident" braking.

Install took about 2 hrs. Would have been easier if I had a lift. Used jack stands. No photos yet . I am at work now, (on an island) and won't be back until the end of the week.

This is probably a dumb question; I may be thinking to much into this project but did the axle being offset up front cause any issues in lowering it enough to remove the springs? If so how did you over come it. My kit came in and I haven't had time to install it yet so I just want to be prepared... Thanks!!!
