replacing rear drive shaft, drive without it while waiting for parts?

replacing my rear drive shaft and the yoke that goes from the t case to the shaft will not be here for a few days... i know that i can drive without the shaft in in 4h.... my concern is that, with tho old yoke in it will slip off and ill loose fluid... with it off i will lose more fluid... any recommendations on how to plug up the tcase for the next few days so i can get to work and back? thanks, hope this rambling is clear enough for someone to help!!!

Are you serious?

tape spray can top on it. or what ever size you can fit on there. yes you gonna loose some fluid. But the better you seal the end the less it will be. Drove for 100's of miles this way.

That should be no issue. Reason using a paint cap is the shaft sticks out a little you got to avoid touching it cause it will be spinning..\\

tell us later how those front wheel burn outs are funnnnnnn ...

Yeah guy. The way I read it is that he's going to drive his jeep in 4H without the front drive shaft back and forth to work for a few days.

any tips on reinstalling the new driveshaft / yoke? just put it in or should I grease it up? yea I am talking about the jeep ... ha

if you are putting a new yoke in it you should put a new output shaft seal in as well. the old seal was used to the old yoke, it might not leak but as long as you got it apart?. your call. grease the outer part of the slip yoke where the seal will ride on it. and slap it together.
