Doors Off Side Mirror Fix

3 Attachment(s)
I like to run without my full doors but don't like not having at least a driver's side mirror. Legality is not a problem, I just don't like having to swivel my head around so far to check for traffic when changing lanes.

Easy fix: Harley Davidson tapered long-stem left side replacement mirror. H-D part number 91910-03B.
My buddy Wingnut helped with the install.

The mirror sits rock-solid and doesn't vibrate in the wind as bad as do the OEM mirrors.

Nice find !! I have been looking for something like this.. Didn't want to relocate my mirrors and also hate he swivel for lane changes..great info !!!
No problems with it pivoting on high speeds ?

Not if I use the lock washer it came with, and tighten the nut nice and snug.

Good fix!!:thumb:

I ended up just going with Rugged Ridge mirrors for when I pull the doors. I'm actually now considering pulling the stock mirrors off for good and finding some way to plug the holes and just leaving the RR mirrors on all the time.

Of course, I only pull the doors when the school is out. I won't drive to school with the doors off...I had somebody try to steal my F150 last year right out of the school parking lot.

I bought a set of these.
http://www.quadratec.com/products/images/enlarge.gifDual Mirror Set in Black for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited with Soft Doors

There not bad, vibrate at high speeds, but pretty easy to install.

DieLawn19k 04-23-2012 12:18 PM

I'm definitely gonna get a set of these, I've got the RR mirror relocation brackets, I hate how much the mirrors shake and I hate how I can't even see the passenger side mirror with them on. This looks like a much better solution. Good find!

Not tryin to hi-jack the thread, love the mirror idea!
But...where can i find the T-50 torx driver
For getting the doors off? Once i do this, then i can move along to the mirror issue.
I looked at harbor freight, rural king ( think tractor supply), and sears.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Cool, thanks! Does Harley have one that will go on the passenger's side too? I like to have a mirror there.

Dextreme 04-23-2012 02:53 PM

I built mine for <$8 (in pic), but I do like the unique shape of the Harley mirror.

Yes. I bought mine as a set from a Harley dealership.

Yepper, for the right side mirror you want to also get H-D part number: 91909-03B to make a matched set (with H-D part no. 91910-03B).

Will this work with a YJ as well?

Dextreme 04-25-2012 03:39 PM

Whoa...these are on Amazon for $39. I bet they could be made to work with the correct length bolts:

Harley Mirrors cost more than just buying permanently relocated mirrors made for the Jeep. The hassle of constantly taking mirrors on and off would blow for me because my doors are always coming on and off.
Originally I used relocation brackets with the stock mirrors but they didn't look or work very good.
I've had the ones like prairedogg above for years now and they are great.
Here is a newer style: http://www.ntwonline.com/images/P/11001.08.jpg
But, with all that said, customizing and improvising is where the fun is.

I like mine, just took them off a couple of days ago, and put my doors on. ( a bit chilly out) hopefully in a week or 2 I can put them back on and remove my doors for the summer. Now I just need to find a cheap set of half doors or some nice tube doors.

Mine have been on for years. I packed my stock mirrors away long ago.

i was just looking at all the harley parts i have laying around and saw a set of mirrors in the pile and was wondering what to do with them. i'll save them for my jeep when i get it. just an FYI .... if you want mirror's just go to your local Harley fleamarket when they have one and pickup mirrors for a few bucks ! they are having one of the biggest ones in this area in Keene,NH in a few weeks. You can even also check the Harley forums in their classifieds. hdforums.com is the one I am on.
Rob .....

Do you have a part number/manufacturer for these? I think they look great and would like something I can permanently attach to the windshield!

Devon1997 07-31-2012 11:36 PM

I just got my 97 wrangler sport and it came with a relocation bracket already installed on the drivers side but the stock mirror goes on it and it looks terrible with my hard doors on and the additional bracket on the door. Also my door hits the mirror and moves it every time im not careful about opening my door, any relativly cheap solutions to take the relocation bracket off and put my mirror back on my hard door but still have a mirror when i have my soft doors on??? Maybe like a magnetic mirror?

Rayko 08-02-2012 06:04 AM

"justaddmudoffroad.com". Someone posted these a while back. I think they're great.

Potts 08-02-2012 03:05 PM

Anyone know if those harley mirrors would fit on a JK without any changes to them?

G54 08-04-2012 12:09 PM

Just looked at the hinges on a JK and I dont see any reason why they wouldnt work.
