Mopar Bugshield

Ok... Do u really have to drill holes in the hood to attach a Mopar bugshield???
I have a 2012 wrangler and dont like the idea of drilling holes. Any other way of install or do I need to just sell it? I just went and picked it up.
So if anyone is interested... It might be for sale.

I have the rugged ridge and it came with 3M tape. Added protection is to use the screws. I was hesitant to use a drill. But i did that aswell. Really simple. Install it with the 3M tape. Then go back with the drill. U have a small layer to drill into and enough time to stop.

I have this installed. I'm not sure if you absolutely have to drill, but the holes are tiny and on the inside of the hood. If you take it off afterwards, the holes really won't be noticeable. Just be careful and use short screws.

I would send it back. That small strip of plastic isn't going to stop anything from hitting all of the flat surfaces. If you happen to like the way it looks, like others do, then put it on. But, I wouldn't drill into the hood to do it. Your best protection for the front is a good quality grill insert. There's everything from the best, Metalcrafters, to home made. A search will answer all of your questions regarding grill inserts.

My original JKUR didn't have the bug deflector, but the replacement does, and while it certainly doesn't stop everything it has a noticeable effect on the amount of bug guts splattered on the windshield.

I just need to remove mine so I can move the bumpers from the deflector to the hood (the dealer it was shipped in from installed it before I ever saw the vehicle).
