1999 TJ Odometer Issues?

I know Wranglers aren't known for their gas mileage, however it seems that I have been filling up the tank too much. I use my jeep as a daily driver and I fill it up when the gas light goes on. At that time the odometer reads around 190-200 miles on that tank. Is that normal compared to other jeeps or is there something wrong with my Wrangler?

If I get that many miles to a tank I consider it to be pretty good.. I usually only get around 170 miles to a tank.

That Is real good mine gets about 130 to 150 miles on a good day

Record the miles between fill ups and divide it by the number of gallons to fill up. What is the result?

Also, what engine, trans, lift, tire size? If tires are not stock did you recalibrate the speedo?

Assuming you have the oem speedo gear installed, I am guessing you probably have a 19 gallon tank with 33 inch tires, or you have a 15 gallon tank with 30"-31" tires. If so, then its normal.

That is about right. I seem to get about 205. I also bet you have approx 4 gallons left when your light comes on. How many gallons are you putting in when you fill up. I bet it is 15 or so and I bet you have a 19 gallon tank.

I have 33's so I am guessing I get about 15mpg. My truck get's 13 without a lift or big tires so I can't complain.

i've got a 99 2.5L, 15 gallon tank, 33" tires AX-5 with 4.10's, speedo corrected, and i am right at 190-210 on miles when the light comes on, usually takes 11.5 gal to fill back up at that point. 200 miles divided by 11.5 gal is just a hair over 17 MPG, for what its worth to answer your question.
