dumb quetion guys, abouy transfer case and trans fluid. help

just replace my drive shaft and in the process lost a bit of trans fluid from where slip yoke goes in to the trans case.... to replase the list fluid should it under the hood at trans dipstick or at the trans case itself? thanks

Cant say for sure but on mine NP231 transfer case it is direct into the transfer case. Fill is the large nut under the round metal tag on rear of TC, drain is the lower. I think it is a 30MM bolt.

it is an automatic btw and looks the same as the trans fluid? is ATF used in the transmission and the transfer case?
