real speed?

Im wondering if anyone would know for a wrangler se with stock gears and 33's how much is the speedo off? and how many miles have i really gone?

Your speedometer will be off ~20%. So you will be going about 20% faster than your speedo says, and consequently 20% farther as well. This is actually an easy fix. You can go to the dealership and for about $20 you can get a speedo gear with the right number of teeth...

any clue which one ill need?

jeeperman 04-15-2006 04:24 PM

No, but only 'cause I don't know which you have... You can do the math. Ask your dealer which speedo gear you have, and then get one with 20% fewer teeth. This should fix your "problem". Or, you can just live with it!;)

that makes sense. thanks for the help.

Your TJ needs a 36 tooth speedometer gear to make the speedometer accurate again. This assumes your axle ratio is 4.10/4.11 as most 2.5L TJs have.
