More electrical

89 Sahara, 4.2, weber 34.
Earlier, I posted with an elecrtical issue where the jeep would run ok, but when I stopped for a short time, it wouldn't start. No spark from the coil. After it sat for awhile, it would start right up. I replaced the coil. Today it did the same thing, only to top it off, after I got it started, while I was driving down the road, I lost all spark and it died. It's still setting on the side of the road, where it will have to spend the night. I don't know where to look. I heard of a module which is apparently connected to the coil somehow, but I don't know where it is or what it looks like.
All my connections seem good, my wiring seems intact, I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? I'm not good at electrical.

Check the Crank Position Sensor. It might be going out.

Thanx 4point. I'll see if I can find it. I went back to the jeep this morning and it started right up. Got lucky, nobody bothered it while it sat.
(If guns kill people, than spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.) LMAO!

Does an 89 carbed 4.2 even have a CPS?

Have the ignition module checked, its under the resevoir tank and boltd to the fender on the drivers side. Most auto parts can check them. Mine failed 3 out of 7 tests I think. Would not start and caused the starter to stick on. Installed a new ansd ran like a champ, Gordie

Sorry, I didn't notice it was in the YJ section.

Thanx Gordie. I will check it out. I was looking for the module but couldn't find it. My starter stuck a bit the last couple of times I tried it, so hopefully that will fix the problem.
How much do they cost? (he cringes)

I think it was forty or fifty bucks with a lifetime warranty. I bought a 88 Wrangler off the neighbor that had sat in his horse barn for 4 years. No spark and the starter would stick when you tried to start it, replaced the ignition module and that problem went away. Have learned alot about Jeeps in the last year, glad I could do all the work on it or it would of cost me a fortune! Gordie

Gordie-
I had the module tested. It was bad, so I replaced with a lifetime guaranteed module($59.99 @ Knecht's) and it works great. Thank you very much for the input. If you're ever in the Salem Oregon area, let me know and I'll buy you a beer!
