3rd brake light

Any ideas about either extending it or making something that looks good and incorporates the spare tire? With the spare on now the light comes right to the top of the tire.

I cut mine off and put it so it shines thru the spokes of the wheel. I followed a thread on here about wat someone else did.

Tons of options. See 4fit's post in this link...pretty simple looking:

Third brake light

And here's how you do it: My 3rd brake light mod

Or, you can extend it higher over your spare with something like this: Rampage Products 86615 - Rampage Products LED 3rd Brake Light Kit (CHMSL) - Quadratec

Or this: Amazon.com: Jeep Wrangler JK Third Brake Light Extension Kit (2007-2012): Automotive

Here is how I mounted mine when I build my rear bumper/tire carrier. I was going to merely cut and modify my OEM 3rd brake light and raise it up. However, in the preliminary stage of that modification it seemed to not have enough reach and it got a little 'wobbly' being up that high as well as it would have interferred with my Hi-Lift jack mounting bracket that I wanted to incorporate into my tire carrier.

I chose to go a simpler route that would be secure and not have anything hanging above or below to get in the way of anything and still be fully functional regardless of whether I was running the hardtop or softtop.

Mike.

Here it is without the rear tire mounted.
