I just had new brakes, tires and shocks put on my 2005 TJ Jeep Wrangler X. The shocks I got were Monroe Sensa-Traks. The ride is really hard. Does anyone know if it's better to go with the OEM shocks from Chrysler which is like the OEM's that came off my Jeep? One guy at the dealership told me not to use Sensa-Traks on my Jeep as he said I wouldn't like them. Well, I think he is right. I just want a better ride. I don't do any off-roading. Just once in a while I'll hit a trail off road. I can still take these shocks back but don't know what to use to replace them.

Does anyone here have any recommendations? I don't want a real hard ride. I took the Goodyear Wrangler GS-A tires off and put on BF Goodrich Long Trail Tours. I wanted a quieter ride, too.

Rancho 9000XL's. I've had them for about 6 months and have loved them so far. You can adjust them to your preference for on / off road.

I've actually been thinking about getting those. Are they really that good? Is there a big difference from the lowest to the highest or can you even tell?

Just curious.

Bilstien 5100's that are valved for the wrangler. Great riding shock that absorbs the bumbs very well. Kolak Performance sells them for about $289 shipped.

Rancho has a 100 rebate right now. So you can pick up a set for $200! It's a steal! I've got some sitting around waiting for me to have time to put them on, but the reason I bought them is because I rode in a jeep that had them and AEV progressive roll springs. The ride was so nice that I had to copy it, I mean it was like am I riding in a jeep or a Cadillac? Then we went offload and I was sold on them, on the spot

Did I mention they have a lifetime warranty?

Can't speak to Bilsteins, but I can say you won't regret Rancho 9000XLs.
