Question for those that have tires sticking out past fenders...
I am looking at purchasing a set of Level 8 Trackers with 33" 12.50 Duratracs on them, but have one concern. Have those of you with tires sticking out past the fenders been hassled by the fuzz? Is it something they crack down on in Jersey, or is it something they don't care about like HIDs? Thanks for the help!

There are a ton of us, with our wheels sticking out of our fenders, here in Jersey no problems whats so ever

A jeep got pulled over in my works parking lot for it 2 weeks ago. The cop was a customer and I asked him, he didn't write her...said he didn't care. He was just hoping to get her for something like unregistered since it looked like a trail only rig.

I was out on a trail ride with a group a few months ago. We all took a break in a parking lot around Wharton State Park and the rangers started doing drive-by's to see who was legal and who wasn't. One guy got a ticket for it.

It all depends on the situation, time of the month, and where you are. Better off spending the extra $ on a cheap pair of flairs. They will be cheaper then the ticket you may get. It's also an invitation for a cop to give you a hard time and go over your whole jeep looking for violations.

It's a crap shoot. Good luck.

Pop em out!!!! Alll day ...

Never had any problem with "the fuzz" but here they tend to turn a blind eye unless the driver is doing something else wrong

tend to agree w/those that say is a crap shoot. i have 35x12.5 and at this point no back fenders.. and no prob yet...knock wood.

its funny, i heard a ranger@ the atsion station givin some crap last mem. day wknd. i asked whose yellow jeep was parked in the lot, its nice... he said it was his. wide tires and all.. what a tool!!!

I was wondering about this as well, I just took the stock flares off my YJ and I actually plan on running that way for a bit.

srad600 05-27-2012 09:23 AM

Well the guy above you actually got "kicked out" of the woods yesterday because he has flats on the front and none on the rear.

Lineman827 05-27-2012 09:30 AM

srad, i think i just ran into a d-bag assertin his authrity on a holiday wknd. ive been seen by rangers on the basto side and got just a friendly return wave. but, im prob gonna get a set of flares for the rear, leave the flats up front.

so srad,.ill split a set of 4 w/ya lmao u can do the same thing

srad600 05-27-2012 09:34 AM

Yeah I agree I have seen rangers and had them wave back. My wife was shocked when I told her too.

Id do that if you actually found a set of 4 just rears. lol.

I talked to bushwacker before and they will sell just the rear pocket styles we would need they just dont have the part number listed.

Lineman827 05-27-2012 09:36 AM

nice, lol... my wife just laughed, even took a pic lol.

My issue is all the ones I have seen are so freakin expensive. Does anyone make a reasonably priced set?

bmanrkg3 05-28-2012 12:10 AM

Oversized or flat? I have the rugged ridge oversized fender flares, and they didn't break my bank...

Lineman827 05-28-2012 07:03 AM

the flat ones just do do it 4 me, but the more i look around the more the price makes them

Lineman827 05-28-2012 07:03 AM

****dont do (fat finger)

Tattoo Tony 06-02-2012 05:46 AM

My yj is pretty much stock, I would imagine the flat ones would work fine. Do you guys have a Manufacturer name?
