Anybody wheeled at Rock Run yet?

We are planning on going there in the next couple weeks and was just curious how there trails were. Thanks for any info. Hum

Nope, not yet, I want to though. I will be living/going to school about 20 mins away this fall :thumb: so let me know how it is then.

Will do.

Went last fall, the group I was with kept having mechanical failures (fuel pump, hydralic steering, clutch, drive shaft) so we only did a couple of trails. Trails are a little tight but from what I saw fun. I am heading back with another friend the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend (5/27)

Ran it last weekend. Despite the name compared to Rausch Creek there are very few rocks, most of the greens and blue trails are tight forest trails with a few hill climbs and a couple of small play areas. We spent the most of the day running greens and blues mostly in the Radio Road area and a couple over in the Turkey Flats area. We finally found some rocks in the Oak Lane area unfortunately the first trail we did there, Trail 16 (Black), the person I was with cut a sidewall so we called it a day after that one trail since he no longer had a spare. Unless they open up some new trails that incorprate some more rocks and technical stuff I probably won't be heading back any time soon.

Here are a few videos from the day

Thanks for update I might try it after the jeep jamboree. I don't have time to do repairs if I break.

It looks like fun but Ive got a couple guys in our club with 4 linked cherokees locked that probably wouldnt be too challenged. We may head down after the jamboree in bradford to check them out. Thanks for the videos.

I know a guy with a stretches Tj on 4x tires and he plays there. I'm sure the Harder trails and blacks would be enough for them.

Im not saying it doesnt look fun, we will check it out. Im not locked so im sure ill have challenges. My friend just custom designed and fabbed his own four link susp. He also just put lockers fr and rr and today we installed some super swampers just for jam. Redneck Fab on FB if you have an account check out some of his work. This isnt a business promotion, its just really cool to see some of his designs.

I know of course! Just saying there are trails for the big boys! Haha. I'll take a look sometime.

I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it, we had a fun day but for me there was not enough intermediate trails. The blues at Rock Run would still be greens at Rausch and some of the blacks would be reds. I usually run blues, blue-blacks and blacks at rausch and there did not seem to be alot of trials of that level at Rock Run the trails seemed to go from really easy to extreme with not a whole lot in between. The lack of intermediate trails plus the fact thar Rock Run is 4 hours away verses a 1.5 hour trip up to Rausch means I'll be sticking to Rausch.

Hopefully AOAA will open soon for another alternative, but it sounds like it will be next year at the earliest before they open to the general public. I toured the area last summer and it had a ton of potental and they have been cutting new trails for a year getting ready for a Jeep Jamboree in August. I am taking another tour in July a couple of weeks before the Jeep Jamboree to see the progess they have made.

GoldenSahara00 06-04-2012 03:12 PM

Anthracite ? Yeah I have been lookin forward to them. We are going to Rausch at the end of July. About 2.5 hours from me. Rock run is about An hour but I will be living very close this fall for school, and die valley which is private property for my local club but is really sweet and big is like 25 mins away.
