I sold my Dream so She could have hers.
I loved my 3000GT but it got me into alot of trouble. I will miss my 3s family but hope to gain one here.
Here is my old 3000GT

Monday we are going to look at a 89 4cly 5spd Jeep Wrangler. My GF's Dream car.

I would be very grateful for any advice on the purchase or links to cheap aftermarket parts for the wrangler. fender flairs, body protectors, etc... other than (JCwhitney summit etc..)

I owned a 97 Wrangler for a few months 7 yrs ago. Sold it bc it wasnt for me,
Im a LandRover guy.
She had a 87 Wrangler for her first car in HS.

Thank you everyone, selling my car was very hard for me but i look forward to being part of the WF family.

Welcome. It won't be as fast as the 3000gt but it'll be more fun :D

being able to hit 155 mph is what got me in trouble.

I had a 99 LandRover Disco II, it was loads of fun on the trails and motorcross track.
Going fast in the sports car was just as much fun as doing 2mph in the trails. So I choose the Trail.
I know Jeep guys are nuts when it comes to outings and having fun. So i look forward to the adventures.
I have worked on cars since a teenager (classic chevys) so i know how to turn a wrench. And can handle anything this Jeep can throw at me.

I think im getting a decent deal on the 89 Wrangler.
I will try to get the price around $2k-$2400
Pic above what do you guys think.

"white, new tinted besttop black soft top
4 cyliner engine, 4WD(runs good), 5 speed
4" suspension lift, 30" BF Goodrich long trail tires
cd player, heat/ac
new crome flood lights, nerf bars,
155,000 miles
various new parts installed (radiator,battery,waterpump,alternator,ignition switch,spark plugs,starter,etc.)
drives great! "

This is really making me think right now.You sold the GT to buy her a Jeep. That is all good but an 89 4cyl????I know you got more out of that 3000 than that. You have done kissed her feet now step up to the plate and get her a new one or at least late 90s with mods. Just kidding man all in good fun and a Very Big Welcome from Kentucky!!!!!

If you like power you should atleast go with a 6cyl.
For parts you could check out Quadratech--if product is in stock they are descent to deal with. There is also 4Wheel Drive Hardware for another catalog order source.

However, I would highly recommend posting in the local forum section to find if there is a recommended shop in your area.

Welcome to WF :wavey:

If you want a yj I would look for a early 90's or even better a 95 with the 4.0. welcome and good luck.:D

cherokee980 03-01-2008 08:35 PM

Welcome...Go ahead with the '89, then six months later, do like me and turn your YJ into a Rubiclone!! It's nothing but fun, and money!! Enjoy the addiction!!!!

Welcome, so you only have one car between the two of you? Or was the 3000 a toy and you sold that to get her a toy? Any hoot.... 2k would be about all I would give for an 89 in clean shape. I would hold out for 91 or newer 6 cylinder, as that makes a nicer driver on the roads. Good luck and keep us posted...
