June 16th Yellow Jacket Run/Clean-Up Posse Needed !

-Hey everybody!

Yellow Jacket is a trail off of Miller Jeep Trail in Fraizer Park. It's a cool trail with pretty scenery, some rocks and water. It's pretty brushy and green in some spots. I'm not one to worry about a couple scratches on my Jeep when wheeling, but on this trail, before we can wheel it all the way through, we really need to hack away some of the branches/bushes in a spot or two so we don't completely scratch up our junk.

Be fun! Get to run Lockwood, Yellow Jacket and Miller :punk: Bring gloves, a big knife or machete type thing, bug repellant, a cooler, food and something cold to drink...

Any takers?? :D

For anyone wanting to come Saturday morning, we'll meet you at 930am at the Lockwood Forest Service station off Lockwood Valley Rd. The address is 34580 Lockwood Valley Rd., Frazier Park 93225 :)

As for a Friday meeting; it's either going to be the Flying J (42810 Frazier Mountain Park Rd
Frazier Park, CA 93225) or Forest Service Station. As we get closer, we'll see what works best for everyone..

I'm not afraid of a few Trail Stripes. Count me in. Even if it does sound like work, it ain't at the office. And the worst day wheeling is better than the best day working. Lol.

You Rock Rob! It'll be fun!

Not to be a party pooper but the 17th is Fathers Day. You may not get a good turnout.

I H8RDS 05-22-2012 10:08 PM

The actually clean up day is June 16th..ya don't have to stay and camp..

I'm a Father. And I'll be there. Besides, what better gift to give Dad than a weekend wheeling? Lol. Come on people. We can't wheel it if nobody opens it. Tread Lightly.

That's so true..you know; I didn't even think about it like that. I just know it needs to get done.

We'll get it done. Even if we have to do it alone. I'm not afraid of a little work. Would Def like some help though. Makes the job easier. Come on folks, even if it's just Saturday.

BeantownR6 05-23-2012 09:05 AM

i would like to participate in trail clean ups, i will be getting back from the rubicon the Sunday before, so i will keep it on my radar and see how things are when im back.

I H8RDS 05-23-2012 09:48 AM

Sweet! When you know, let me know if you're coming for the day or camping out with us :)

BeantownR6 05-23-2012 11:41 AM

if i come, will be camping. where r u planning to camp?

I H8RDS 05-23-2012 12:14 PM

Top of the mountain. Same as Miller thread for this weekend. Will have to meet at either the flying J off the 5 hwy, or Ranger station off Lockwood Valley Rd. After I have an idea of who's coming and when, I'll decide on a meeting place and time.

So is that the spot everybody keeps referring to as your secret place? Lol.

I H8RDS 05-23-2012 12:33 PM

Yea, not a big fan of camping at Duchman's or Gorman. I like Remote camping. Roll of TP, jar of pickles, campfire at night and I'm happy.

Don't I know it. The farther off the beaten path, the better. I like my fire big, my music loud, and the neighbors as far away as possible.

RadarRob2012 05-23-2012 12:43 PM

Come on everybody. These trails don't clear themselves. We need at least a few more hearty souls to help clear brush. Let's do this right. Tread Lightly.

so im looking at my mt pinos motor vehicle map, trying to locate your top of mountain camp. you say in the other thread its at 118/119, for some reason 119 is not shown on the map, but is listed in the descriptions as 8n42, which i found off of 118, and 8n42 goes to the top of Frazier mountain. i don't see a camp there, but im guessing there is one, with fire rings?

I H8RDS 05-23-2012 01:25 PM

No. You won't find it on a map....that's the best part about it..and is why it's my secret place. :)

I'm leaning towards meeting at the Ranger Station. The addy is:

34580 Lockwood Valley Rd.
Fraizer Park, Ca. 93225

BeantownR6 05-23-2012 01:39 PM

nice. i like the off the beaten path camps myself. i always enjoy dutchman, and every time i go we always have it to ourselves. we have camped there with snow in the early morning :)

crittert 05-23-2012 01:49 PM

I've never done Miller before, so if my '12 JKU with 32" and rock sliders will make it I'll be there too. As long as their is a campsite with cold beverages nearby I am GTG!

You're good :punk: Let me know for the day or camping..

Xjman1 05-23-2012 03:22 PM

Love Yellow Jacket Trail, only place I ever had to use my winch on someone and sank my old pathfinder to the belt line in a small mud hole. That brush can overtake the trail real quick and I can recall many branches cut there, however I will be in Big Bear that weekend for a long ago planned Fathers Day Trip.
Have fun and thanks for doing the work. Short trail, but lots of fun.

I H8RDS 05-23-2012 03:28 PM

:thumb:

The Axles Snappers own that trail but I have yet to see them do any work on it. So I've taken it upon myself to do it. And, no worries...I will have many trips to Fraizer Park area; as its closest to me...along with the pretty trails off Cuddy Road. This is the season I sort of give my jeep a break from driving 3 and a half hours one way every other weekend.
