Skyjacker Steering Damper installation help
I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this problem, so if theres already a thread on here for this, please point me in the right direction.
Got a new skyjacker 7000 series steering damper recently, and the instructions suck. There are only 5 steps, and the last one is, "thanks for choosing skyjacker." After studying my Haynes manual and crawling under the Jeep, I didnt get much further. So heres a couple of questions.
The instructions tell me to drill/mount a bracket on my passenger side frame and then mount another bracket onto the DRAG LINK. The stock steering damper attaches just above the passenger side leaf spring bracket and on the TIE ROD. Can this be right? If the instructions are accurate, where should I mount this bracket on the drag link? Really any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
pull the rod out on the steering stabilizer, measure it, and push it half way back in.
This allows you to have equal movement in either direction for the steering.
mount the one end to the frame like the directions say. and now that you have the stabilizer set for the halfway point, where ever it hits the drag link is where it should be mounted.
