I would think as long as ifs a 4.0, most parts will be interchangeable.

Here is a link to a thread on Jeep Unlimited that may help you out. Guy seemed to be asking pretty much the same thing.

Agreed. BTW, They did not put a V6 in a 2001 Jeep, it is an I6

i am not that good in American cars , Here in Middle east mostly vehicles are Japan's , , but its V6 , its clearly mention that its 6 cylinders ,
and if u can see the engine is burned ,, so u can't get any idea which engine is it :).

Your picture looks like what is left of a straight 6 4.0L.

If this is so, then a 4.0L Cherokee engine is the same. You may need to change some electrical connections but I'm guessing your electrics are fried anyway.

Dude yes it is a 6 cylinder but it is not a V6, its an I6. Hey no biggie, just trying to clear that up for you.

thank u , that what i want to say , :)

the_smart 05-31-2012 05:27 PM

what about the engine , the engine is good ? , what should i do now ? ,

GoldenSahara00 05-31-2012 05:30 PM

The engine in the wrangler is obviously bad. I would assume. The 4.0 engine in the Cherokee is the exact same engine as the one in the wrangler. I think you would want to swap over most of the computer stuff as well though I assume it is burnt up.

thank u , it will help allot ,

Are you sure the engine is bad. That's a cast iron block. I don't see any melted metal. Internally it might be OK. Just replace all the externals, like wiring, coil packs, hoses, alternator, new fluids.

Before doing the swap have it checked.

the_smart 06-01-2012 04:11 PM

thank you sparky , what about the wiring ? , it can be swap from Cherokee ? i mean like wiring and the other external part ?

the_smart 06-01-2012 04:38 PM

i already give my wrangler at Jeep company here local in Qatar, they told me , that it will take 10 days that how much it will cost me , so tel then i am waiting for them ,

sparky 06-01-2012 09:07 PM

That depends on the year of both vehicles. It might.

Out of curiosity what happened? Was it mechanical?
