Half Doors

Just got off the phone with my dealer. I opted for dual top/full doors when I purchased my unlimited since we have a pretty tough winter. I wasn't able to order half doors & full doors & both tops from the factory so I went Full and both tops. I plan on rolling doors off in town but I want to have half doors for road trips and during the rainy month here.

So I called my dealer today and found out that Jeep doesn't sell "finished" half door sets. You have to buy the parts, paint, assemble etc. That's all fine and dandy but just the metal door w/o inside trim or paint is $700. The soft "top" to the door is $250. Have to buy hinges etc. seperate. So I'm looking at spending at least $5k on half doors for my jeep from OEM.

So anybody know who makes a decent "portable" half door config? I really just want to have doors with me for road trips and the rainy season w/o spending a fortune.

i think the only types of doors or 1/2 dorrs being made right now are just the tube type.
some manufacturers have an optional netting and others have storage bags check out http://4wpw.com orhttp://quadratec.com

On the last chat with the Jeep Engineers over on jeep forum, the engineers said that Mopar would be selling complete half door kits of a lot less than the sum of the parts are currently costing.

They are suppose to be available this summer.

Had a Jeep Grand Cherokee '97 back in the day with a roof rack/spare tire mount. Kinda gave it character, freed up some space in the backand had alot of utility. Been looking for something like that for my unlimited... and here she is.

Good to hear. I'm willing to spend some money on half doors... but 5k+ is a bit much at any level.
