I wonder why?

I have noticed something interesting...how come almost all Wrangler owners are caucasian males? I do see an increase in female Wrangler ownership but once again mostly caucasian.

I would be interested to find out what the racial and gender breakdown of Wrangler ownership is.

I myself is an Asian female and I have NEVER seen another Asian person (let alone an Asian female) drive a Wrangler.

What are your thoughts on this?

MTH 06-04-2012 04:43 PM

My Asian wife sits next to me in my Jeep. Does that help? :D

Jeeps are generally sort of a "white guy" vehicle, but they're starting to spread in terms of both race and gender.

My asian old lady does the wheeling for me!

FuzzyJK 06-04-2012 04:47 PM

dont take anything i say as offensive that being said

atleast in my area offroading is more of a "redneck hick" thing most people who purchase wranglers have intention of off roading mabe the 4 doors will catch on but 2door wranglers as we know isnt exacly big on space its not something i would ever buy to use stricly as a daily get around truck with no intention of ever leaving pavement.

O_M_Jeep 06-04-2012 04:49 PM

I think most shade tree mechanics and rednecks are white guys, and thats the type of guy that buys a vehicle that gets modified from the day its bought till the day you finaly die, broke, happy and upside down in your crawler :D

Maybe I'm just weird. I have never owned anything but American cars. Wranglers has been a favorite car of mine since I was 16. I tend to like muscle cars, the beefy, rugged mans man car.

Ya... You are right.

I've seen JAY Z's Jk and it ain't pretty

I would love to own a Dodge Challenger (with a HEMI), right along with my Wrangler (I be super happy if my Wrangler has a HEMI in her too). OMG, that be heaven!

Beginning to doubt your Asianess . . . .

My wife is big into functional style, so she loves the look of Wranglers, the old Land Rovers, and the old FJs in general, but words like "Hemi" don't resonate. American muscle cars are generally a "no go." I'd say that's fairly representative of the women in her family of about the same age . . . more or less.

:whistling: The word "HEMI" and WRANGLER, shouldn't even be used in the same sentence--

The JEEP WRANGLER has no use for the social HYPE'D ICON HEMI-

A waste of time/money/jeep purpose-

Thats my 10ft pole and I've had several REAL HEMIS-

:dance::rofl: JIMBO

Just a V8 with some hemispherical cylinder heads that Chrysler decided to call a "hemi," right?

Most gear heads I've met seem to think there are many better V8 engines for jeep purposes made by other manufacturers.

BUT, my understanding is hemi swaps are popular in part on account of computer compatibility. Putting in a Chevy V8 is going to be substantially more difficult.

Of course, I could have that all bollixed, so I'll leave it for Jimbo to correct. I will say though that a V8 in a wrangler would be cool in my book. :thumb:

I am in the same boat as MTH and PLUKE My asian wife rides in the jeep next to me she does like it. I am just trying to get her to trade in her SUV for the JKUR.

JIMBOX 06-04-2012 05:42 PM

:D No correction MTH, but there's an abnormal number of HEMI swapped JKUs for sale, not long after the swap-

The GM LS1 is gaining popularity in swaps also--

I'm an old timer and I've had powerful muscle cars and I've raced--I'm just hungup on the jeeps "NONEED" for the swap--

I'll never try to correct a lawyer-

Most doubt my Asianess...lol. I believe they call that being a "banana". Yellow on the outside, white in the inside...lol.

Asians have the tendency of being hot lol

jrode 06-04-2012 07:38 PM

I see a lot of women driving Wranglers.

Haven't really noticed anything else in terms of ethnicity, though now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever seen a black guy driving one. I think most people that buy Wranglers intend to off-road, and I guess that hobby would probably be considered one that white males participate in most.

Personally, when I get my Wrangler, I probably won't off-road much. I don't have a huge desire to. I'm just buying mine because I've loved them since I was little and watched MacGyver.

I disagree! Asian men...OMG short and unattractive (mostly) and I don't think there is a lot of hot Asian women but more than attractive Asian men.

I understood what you meant. And I still disagree with you. Asian as a group of people as a whole are not attractive.

darkproximity 06-04-2012 08:13 PM

I can see where you're coming from, there are a lot of them who aren't attractive. Maybe guys like them because they're typically petite, and exotic.. Who knows exactly lol

And the more you girls keep telling yourselves that, the better the chances are for us white guys. :thumb:

I think men like Asian women because (and this is just my opinion so don't get excited) most Asian are submissive. This has been my experience anyhow.

darkproximity 06-04-2012 08:36 PM

That could very well be true too
