CO2 tank (Powertank) fills
Does anyone know where I can get a CO2 tank filled in SE Michigan (in the Howell/Brighton/Milford area preferably)? I have called about 8 different welding shops and welding supply shops and the closest I have come is a shop willing to trade their full, old, beat-up tank for my shiny new black one... Not acceptable. Thanks in advance for the help guys!

Have you also tried a paintball supply shop?

Don't forget soda bottling plants either!

Try A couple of the bigger Liquor Stores that sell a lot of Kegs. Ask them if they fill bottles or where they get them from. Also try places that fill fire extenguishers. If you still aren't having any luck contact your local fire department and ask them for places to get a bottle of cO2 filled.

Actually found not one but TWO fire safety equipment service places that would fill the tank. Neither fills on site, but I dropped my tank and had it back the next day! Thanks for the suggestions!

Right on. Glad to hear it worked out for you. Remember you are everybody's friend when you have air at the end of the trail.

Yeah, well I am going to have to take up a collection if I am filling everyone's tires... Will be fun to show it off the first couple times, then not so much when I have to have it filled after every trip...

i'd think that most people would give you a little cash to cover you getting the tank filled if you fill their tires up for them after a day of wheeling.

It depends on what size tank you get. I personally have a 20lb. tank that I bought with a regulator and hose off of Ebay. Paid 150 for the whole setup shipped to me. It costs me about 19 bucks to have it filled for me here in Phoenix. So I can get about 4 wheelin trips in before it runs out. Yeah, it's a little bigger, but there are a lot of advantages to having that much air. I can re-seat beads, run air tools, and generally be a nuisance with it for quite awhile before it runs out.
