Best exhaust for YJ

What is the best exhaust for a aggressive sound, more HP for a inline 6 engine?

flowmater, magnaflo, cherry bomb, thrush, here are tons of choices.

i have a flowmaster on mine. sounds like a v8 when i am decelerating and is definitely deeper on acceleration

Is there a breakdown on performance of each? Like increased HP, better for torque, etc?

people say mufflers change all that crap but honestly i dnt think it changes enough to notice it, im running 2.5inch exhaust staright pipe on my 89 yj 4.2 no nothing no muffler, cats nothing lol uk um behind you when i hammer on it, doesnt drone to bad niether

Sound, yes, more HP, questionable.

I put a magnaflow high flow cat and a flowmaster super 44 muffler on my yj with 4.2 i6 and i love the sound, its not annoyingly loud, but it growls. At freeway speeds you dont even hear it though. Not too expenisve either. $80 for the cat on ebay and 45 for the muffler on Amazon...

Not trying to sounds stupid but how do you know to get the 3" 2.5" or the 2.25"? which one is the best?

This cat bolts directly onto where the stock cat bolts on.

This is the muffler i got, it fits directly to the tailpipe, but it does require an adapter to go onto the cat.

What kind of Adapter?
And why do you need an adapter for it?

Because the cat outlet pipe is 2" and the muffler inlet pipe is 2.25". So if you want to DIY and clamp the two together, you would need a exhaust reducer/adapter. This is just a $3 part at any auto parts store. It is about a 4" long peice of exhaust pipe with a 2" side and a 2.25" side. If you plan on having a shop weld the two, or if you can weld yourself, then you do not need the adapter. A muffler shop would have the tools to actually expand the 2" cat outlet to 2.25" so no adapter is needed...
