Jeep Hydroplaning

Hi,
I just totaled my wrangler after hydroplaning into a pole a couple weeks ago. I only had it for a few months and I want to get another one but I'm not sure yet. I had the off roading tires on it so I know that didn't help, but I was just wondering if this happens a lot. I'm commuting to college so I don't want to have to worry about driving every time it starts raining outside.

Yeah, you gotta be careful taking turns, or more specifically, accelerating/braking through turns when it's wet. Also, the width of the tire has a LOT to do with wet traction. 225, 235, or 9.5" tires are not as bad as the 10, 11, or 12.5" tires. Tire height isn't as much as factor as width. That's why you'll see a lot of people opt for "pizza cutters" when they do a lot of pavement driving. I had a wake-up call taking a hard left from a stop...
