Best mirror relocation brackets?

Ive been searching all over and reading so many reviews. theres just way too many relocation brackets to choose from, and so many that are apparently complete crap. im looking to spend no more than like $50 on this.
what do yall recommend? i dont want the passengerside mirror to be useless with the doors on, and i dont want the doors to be able to smash into the mirrors if you open them all the way. its gotta look halfway nice...but function over form.

basically, what is the most functional bracket?

thanks guys!
Patrick

These are the ones I use, I put them on in the summer and take them off in the winter, quick and easy. Two things, your doors will hit them if you don't have on your straps and two with the passenger side door on you lose alittle bit of the view from the mirror, but I got use to it pretty quick. Just my 2cents

I have Rugged Ridge Quick Disconnect Mirrors, the bracket stays on and out of the way when you have your doors on. Take your doors off and put mirrors back on, a two minute job with no hassle.

bump. has anyone else got any "i love this one" stories about a certain mirror bracket? or anyone with a horror story? i just got paid so im seriously thinking about ordering some brackets soon.
thanks!

I have a set sitting in my basement. I hated them. I hated moving my mirrors back and forth from the door to the brackets. They put the mirrors too far forward and if you leave them on your doors can hit them and you can't use the passenger side with the doors and uppers on. I went with a hinge-pin style that I could throw on quick when needed for a while but recently settled for an ATV mirror mounted to the rollbar. Like this

If you want the relocation mirrors I have let me know and I can send them to you. No one in my club wants them either.

What kind do you have? I'm interested. Haha. I know it might be more hassle, but I really like the look of the stock mirrors so I figure it's worth giving em a shot. Plus I will be in Daytona each all year for school so the doors will be off more than on.

I'm not sure of the brand. These look like them.

You ever consider the harley ones that slide in the door hinges? I spent more and got a set of full size ones from here : Home, JustAddMud Offroad Accessories

Lineman827 07-21-2012 08:07 PM

just bought a set of mirrors off quadratec that slide right into the door hinge. easier than the brackets & they took me 10min to put on.

patrickstarfox 07-21-2012 08:09 PM

yeah, i have a mirror that works really well for the drivers side hinge. i want the stock mirrors though. im gonna give BLKooTJ's brackets a shot. thanks though

Lineman827 07-21-2012 08:10 PM

gd luck. i wanted the brackets too, then remembered strippin the torx heads doin somethin else...lol

I have the Kentrol brackets from the previous owner. It's not a daily driver so they are ok but constantly resetting the passenger side is a bit annoying. I see myself eventually going with a second set of mirrors and the die-tech brackets as the wife likes full doors so I am constantly taking them on/ off all summer.

I got these CIPA 44800/01 - Dual Mirror Set in Black for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited with Soft Doors - Quadratec and I like them a lot, They don't get in the way at all, and the mirrors are easy to store, and are a breeze to put on. The only problem was getting the torx bolts off the side of the windshield, but thats more of a jeep problem than a product problem :nonono: the only problem i have had is that they have started to rust a little bit, but being less than 10 yards from the nearest source of water, everything rusts a little

gregsjeep13 02-01-2013 07:46 PM

Those look good

I have these too. I keep them on from spring to fall when running full soft doors or no doors. I hate the way they look. They are huge bulky mirrors and the passenger side is useless. The brackets are cheap and I had to build them up with washers or the arm would not tighten up. Someone walked into the driver side mirror at the store and bent the arm and kinked it. Plus they shake like crazy. Just my 2 cents

That looks like what I have too since I only have full soft doors. I went to advanced auto and bought some ~6" round convex mirrors that had an adjustable bracket on the back. Looks a lot better, and cured that horrible shaking problem. I like them a lot more now

Do you have a pic of the round ones? These square ones are hideous. I'm almost embarrassed to drive around with em

They are 5.75" across. From advanced auto, sorry I threw away the packages so no part numbers. They were $10 each

Pink_Percy 02-02-2013 10:11 AM

That looks 100% better. Thanks for the pics. I'm changing mine to those.

TJDave 02-02-2013 11:57 AM

I bought the 03+ mirrors when I bought the Jeep. Ridiculous. They stuck out way too far and would grab every tree branch I went by. They also made the passenger mirror worthless with the doors on. I removed them and bought another set of mirrors for my half doors.

Glad I could help people out. I actually got that idea from another member on this site (can't remember his name). I can't take all the credit, but glad I could pass it along

TJammin 02-12-2013 12:02 AM

I run full doors when it's cold out and these on nice days. I prefer to do it right the first time and can't stand cheap alternatives. These brackets set you back about $50 and you use the factory mirrors. No vibrations on the road and your view of the mirrors aren't obstructed because the brackets position them where the doors would normally have them. FYI- I ordered when the web page said out of stock and I had them in a week.

How do you like the mirrors from JustAddMud? I'm looking for a quality product but don't want to mess around with bolts every time I take my doors off as they will be on and off quite often. These look like a good solution. It's a toss up between these and the brackets from DieTechOffRoad.
