Just bought a 05 LJ( i6 4.0) I'm new to the jeep world but, Want to lift it to flex it and fit some 33's (31's on her now) its my DD and I drive about 80 miles a day... Any suggestions/tips/pics would be awesome. Thanks all.

For 33's you will need @ 4" of lift. Lots of things to consider, when doing any lift, but 1st what is your budget?

Got a couple of thousand for jeep mods now..... Still saving and not sure where to start

I saw a local (to me) LJ where the guy had done a 'high line' mod or some such thing where he raised the wheel wells. Then he did a mild body lift (could be wrong) and fit 33's. I thought it looked great and was not all raised up like mine. I would think this route would make a better DD.

33's are fit in two common ways on TJ's:

1. 4" suspension lift, with 2" bumpstop extensions in front and 2-2.5" in the rear. Requires a SYE/CV shaft.
2. 2.5" suspension lift, with a 1.25" body lift, with 1-1.25" bumpstop extensions in front and 1.25-1.5" in the rear. The 1.25" BL usually accompanies a 1" Motor Mount Lift to offset some of the driveline angles.

Either way you go, figure on some or many of the following components: longer front brake lines, extended sway bar links front and rear, gears, brake and steering upgrades to accommodate larger tires, SYE, CV shaft, bumpstop extensions, new shocks, adjustable track bars, and a rear track bar bracket.

Here's how I put 33's on my LJ: Unlimited04's LJ Build - JeepForum.com

You can fit 33s on a 2.5 suspension lift. I have 31s on mine right now and i have plenty of room left over.

2.5 inch lift with 33s. It all fit together fine. No rubbing from the tires.
