Noise from 2012 vacume pump

Purchased first jeep 3 weeks ago. Installed a new front bumper and relocated the vacume pump with a OR Fab mounting kit. Not long after the replacement I started hearing a noise coming from the vacume pump or related equipment. It seems to only happen after first startup and placing foot on the brake and placing jeep in reverse or drive. Noise lasts for approximately 8 seconds. Have not noticed and loss of breaking pressure or ability. Any ideas? Am I safe to drive up and down hills? Noise sounds like a window washer pump or a fish tank pump going bad.

Have you contacted OR Fab about this?

Is it possible thta the sound is coming from the dash? Does it sounds like a vent door or blend door. (like a loud electric antenna). Mine does this, don't want to take it into the dealer yet.

It is a vacuum pump so maybe it's just running like it is designed to do so. The power brakes are vacuum assisted. I hear my pump if I roll my window down and stick my head out if I want to hear it pressing the brake. The relocation of the pump could just be transmitting the noise more efficiently than in the original spot.

It's definately from the pump, im wondering if the length of hose originally on the pump has anything to do with the efficency of the pump. The mounting bracket from OR Fab I dont think it has anything to do with the pump problems. The splice connectors that are supplied from OR Fab are terrible. Definately purchase better ones before installation and also purchase some plastic wire tubing/covering for the supplied wire splice.

I think the problem has fixed itself. Altitude where I live is 1300 ft. when I first heard the problem is when I was on a trip to Colorado the day after relocating the pump. The noise only happened at higher elevations . Like in Colorado at 10 to 12000 ft. Which could possibly mean it was working a lot harder to gather enough air for it to work. Back in Missouri, it seems to be working fine now. No Noise.

thanks for all your help everyone.

12,000 ft. Wow thats high. The highest rd in the US is just over 13,000. Some cars cant make it. Did you go on Electric pass at all? Its the highest unpaved road in the us.
