Legal question on Headlight covers

I bought a set of the black tinted acrylic HL covers...

Are they legal? Has anyone used these and how well will the lights be at night??

I can't wait to add them, it should look pretty sweet I think

a friend of mine had tinted headlights on his mustang. Never got stopped. At night if you look at the headlight you couldn't tell if they are tinted unless you know how bright they were before.

Cool...I'm just wondering if my HL guards will fit with them or if I even want them on the Jeep..
They may be for sale when I install the covers tommorow

Thought about that myself to complete the blacked out stealth look. I checked with a cop friend and he says in Ohio the only law re: it is that the lights must be visable to oncoming traffic from 500' away. But it really kills the headlights brightness - and they're not too bright to begin with.

I ran them on mine for a while but could not keep them on.I always lost the one on the passager side.Lost one in Cincinnati and ran it over after I lost the second one I when another direction with the lights. Also they are not road legal but the cops normally don't say to much but they will cut your light by half at night so I always removed mine for night driving. The top is with covers and bottom are with black headlights.

I've had headlight covers on a lot of my vehicles and have probably had about 2 or 3 tickets for them. Haven't had them on my Jeep yet but I think I will order some. I'd go for it, they might mess with you a bit, especially the Highway cops.

Go for it!

I had some on my old Element, never had any problems with legality but they sucked at night. Long Story short, Mom buys an Element, two days later I total my Element, give her my tints and buy another Jeep.

Man, just installed them and they look SWEET... Once my radiator is back in and I get it on the road I will post some new pics of the lift and light covers...

Down here in Athens I shouldn't get too much if any crap from the cops...
