A-Pillar Gauge Pod for 2012

I've seen one for the 97-02, 03-06, and the 07-10 models, but is there one available for the 2012 Jeeps?

I'd love to get one so I can install an air/fuel gauge as well as a voltmeter.

Unfortunately the searches I've done thus far (both on the 'net and on this site) haven't yielded anything.

Thoughts?

Metonymy 07-15-2012 05:12 PM

Bump. Any suggestions?

Metonymy 07-22-2012 03:51 AM

I take it that I'm pretty well SOL on this idea, but I figured I'd give this one more bump just in case.

Bueller?

Dmactampa 07-22-2012 11:09 AM

Is there a reason the 07-10 wouldn't work? Seems like a lot of other parts do but I know the contour of the dash may affect it...

A - Pillar Gauge Pod for JK 2012 -2013

Autometer just released their A - Pillar gauge pod for the JK 2012 - 2013. After waiting 2 months it finally arrived last week. The plastic is much thinner and harder than stock. The color and texture is not the same as the 2013. Installation is easy but you need to be careful with the sharp edges as it can scratch your dash. The gauge opening was smaller than 2 1/16". I had to run a sand drum from a dremel to bore out the opening...:thumb:

I'm looking into installing a Interceptor set up. If it's a dual pod,
I can go dual interceptors. :D

jonboy 06-21-2013 02:00 AM

Funny, I just spent the past 2 hours looking at gauges and mounts for my 2012 JK.

I found the one on quadratec but didn't like the fact I couldn't find descriptions anywhere on the size of the hole but based on the prior post it sounds like you'd need to do a little work to make it fit the aeroforce.

I also found this one, but damn its expensive and frankly I don't like the carbon fiber look.

I ended up putting off my order for now, because the aeroforce gauges aren't yet able to read temperature in the 2012 tranny. I'll be waiting until that gets sorted out before I buy.

insylem 06-21-2013 08:23 AM

THey can if you get the sensor kit. Interceptor has 2 Analog inputs. Mount a temp sensor in the tranny, and instant Tranny temp.

jonboy 06-25-2013 03:30 PM

How hard would it be to install the sensor in the transmission? Is there an easy place to install it? I may go for this if its an easy install, I'm tired of waiting for Aeroforce to update their gauges for this.

Finally ordered mine. Now to figure out which two gauges I want in there.

Most likely a voltmeter and a stoichiometric gauge. Off to see what Autometer has in 2 1/16th gauges. :)

Did you get the dual interceptors and install them? I was just looking at the same setup (dual), although I'm not sure if it will read both actively...

jonboy 08-06-2013 11:01 PM

I bought the Auto Meter one, and mounted dual Interceptors in it. If you order dual gauges they send you the right cable to use to allow them both to read actively at the same time. go for it, I love mine.

In case anyone is still thinking about this, Aeroforce updated for the 2013 to also include transmission support, axle ratio, TPMS, transfer case ratio adjustment.

Also, has anyone made a gauge pod that would fit on the center section of the 12-13 Wrangler?

Where did you get the Sun Altimeter gauge? I love it, but have not been able to find anyone selling it.

Aussie, What I did to make it work was I bought the Liberty Mountain Sb-400 Altimeter and use the drum sander from the dremel to sand the corners down. I unscrewed the top hinge for the lanyard and place some electrical tape over the hole. I then had to bore out the opening on the A-Pillar with the drum sand...this is all pretty easy stuff...I got the Altimeter from Amazon for $46. If you click on the on Liberty Mountain link you'll see it...(FYI, you can calibrate it for atmospheric pressure changes). I'm pretty happy with it. It would be better if it were backlit....good luck!http://www.wranglerforum.com/attachm...7/a-pillar.jpg

Not on the Jeep yet. I think I may just go Single on the Jeep,
I have had a dual setup on my Car (Chevy Cobalt) four a couple of years and LOVE them!

What all parameters will the Interceptor read correclty on the JKs? I only have Interceptors on my Car (Not a Jeep, but a real car)

insylem 10-07-2013 02:28 PM

.... also got to thinking,
Once some one installs the Apiller gauges,
How does one fold the windshield?

tlminh 11-06-2013 10:29 PM

so which guage pod will fit the 2012 jk a-pillar? I haven't been able to find any pics of fitment/color
