Broke nut from the (door) hinge pin HELP!!!

As i was attempting to take my doors off, i snapped the nut off of the lower hinge pin from the door. I know people don't value the nuts; once they take them off, their off for good. But can the door still come off with the nut being snapped? I've been PB blasting the blazes out of the whole area, letting it sit over night, and not a budge when i try to pull it off.

you door will come off with the broken bolt, but the first time you definetely need to work hard.

swing the door back and fourth while pulling up on the door.

it will eventually free itself and start coming off.

Some guys put a floor jack below the door and try to jack it up.

Not sure if that's a good idea but when I was having that same issue that's what I did and eventually the doors were off.

good luck

am i missing something here??? i don't get the question. and why would you leave the nut on while trying to emove the door??
i've considered trimming the threads off the top hinge pin to make it easier to put the doors back on-insert bottom pin, line up top pin, drop door instead of trying to line up both pins at the same time(either top or bottom would work)

The rocking back and forth is VERY important, it will mostly likely not come off if you don't do this.

I didn't leave the nut on while trying to remove the door...i'm not sure where your getting that idea from. While trying to take off the nut with a box wrench, it snapped off. The question is clearly stated, yes your missing something here.

I did they same thing, basically swing the door back and fourth, while pulling up. once its off you will need (at least I did) to buy new hinges, got mine from q-tec. no biggy it happens....

"As i was attempting to take my doors off, i snapped the nut off of the lower hinge pin from the door"

guess it depends on how ya read that--sorry

if you would have said something like -while trying to remove the hinge pin nut it snapped off....... guess i took it too literal

This thread is almost as old as the one that half my nut is stuck to, but mine snapped just like this on my passenger-side door. I was able to get my driver's side off with half a can of PB Blaster, but no luck on the passenger. I'm almost afraid to jack the door up with how things have been crumbling apart on my '01 teej. Were you ever able to get the door off with the bolt snapped like this, cdelviscio? Or anyone with a similar break?
