ignition switch problem

Turned the key yesterday dash lit up and heard a click. Now key turns and will not turn off or start. 04 Wrangler X. Any ideas besides just switch?

Agree its your ignition switch.

Figured it out. Not the ignition switch. It was the ignition switch actuator pin. $40 and 15 minutes labor my baby is working again!

The dealer won’t sell only the actuator pin for any year TJ but they are available from Dorman & NAPA. All years are the same.

Dorman 924-704
NAPA 620-1414

Here is a link with photos & on post 27 there is a video on replacing it.
