Wheelers for the Wounded

Just wanted to invite the Wrangler forum people to our 4th annual event at Disney on 9-22-12. It is a great opportunity to wheel in Disney and raise awareness and money for some wonderful charities. We will have guided runs from novice to extreme. Please see the link below to sign up or go to our club page for more information.
This event is held each year in Disney, Ok. We are moving the events and entertainment to the Disney community center right on the highway with offraod access permitted on the grass to and from the wheeling areas. If you have never been to Disney this would be a great way to get started. We had over 90 jeeps sign up for last years event and raised $6,000 for charity. This year's charities will include 1 - Fisher House 2- Blue Star Mothers (local) 3- The Hugs Project (local)

I'll be there

That's great to hear. If anyone has questions, I will be glad to try and answer them. Most people show up to wheel on Fri night. The actual event is held on Sat and Sat evening. A lot of people stick around and night wheel Sat night as well. 2 years ago we gave away a KORE chasis at the raffle. Last year saw winches, beadlocks etc. Should be a good turnout. If you would like to be a sponsor or donate items for the raffle, post up here and I can get you in touch with the sponsorship guy from our club.

I will be there my club extreme 4 wheelin' is providing trail guides and my wife and I are providing a prize for the raffle through her business Gray's Jewelry, Gun and Pawn

On the WFTW page, there is a "contact us" section. Can email any of those on there for more info. Fogot to add that your club members are trail leaders. Thanks for your support. Wasn't sure if any of you guys were on any of the other forums.

fabrikate_it 07-19-2012 07:36 AM

Yeah most of us are on pirate and Tulsa off road

Fatty 07-23-2012 10:03 PM

For the 405, we will be at 4 Wheel parts 1 day sale on 8-11-12. You can stop by and meet some of the members and sign up for WFTW at that time. Hope to see you there. We will be cooking, have an RTI ramp and a 25$ gift card drawing for all new members signed up to our club.

For the 918, we have a few hardcore members going to Disney that weekend.

fabrikate_it 07-24-2012 11:43 AM

What time will they be at Disney? We (extreme 4 wheelin') our having our night run on 8-11

Fatty 07-24-2012 10:31 PM

Probably fri through sunday. Hit up Btrflz or Jmac on pirate for any details. So far, they are the only ones going.

Is there a required donation to participate?

Fatty 07-26-2012 06:58 AM

Cost for the event is $50. This includes guided trail ride for stock-modified-extreme, event t-shirt, 2 meals, raffle ticket, typical grab bag stuff. All proceeds go to 3 charities with 2 of them being local. We will be selling more raffle tickets at registration on friday night and Sat morning as well as prior to the drawing.

I'm in, Ardmore will be represented...... Is there campgrounds there or close to there???

Fatty 08-06-2012 08:48 PM

There are 4 state park campgrounds within minutes of the wheeling area and also Hogan's. Our group prefers "riverside" at Cherokee state park due to being very spacious with plenty of parking available and nice people. They have a nice quiet appeal to them and a back road into the rock garden with only 100 yrds of driving on asphalt. Here is the link Cherokee Area at Grand Lake State Park | TravelOK.com - Oklahoma's Official Travel & Tourism Site
The other is Russ Hogan's campground just past the damn.

Don't forget to pre-register so your shirt will be ready in time. There will be stock to extreme trail runs at the event. And 1 damn big bonfire on Sat night if the burn ban is lifted .

Fatty 08-23-2012 06:11 AM

Cut off date for t-shirt order is 9-8-12. Don't forget to pre-register to make sure you have one at the event. We will have a few extras at the event but can't guarantee one if you are not registered ahead of time.

Fatty 09-04-2012 04:53 AM

Bringing this to the top. Donations have been steadily rolling in. Should be a great raffle at the end of the day. Don't forget to sign up ASAP. T-shirt orders need to be done by 9-8-12 to have them ready for the event.

fabrikate_it 09-04-2012 09:43 AM

Yes definitely some great sponsors this year and raffle prizes check out the okwftw.org sponsor page for a list of sponsors

Fatty 09-17-2012 08:58 PM

Just a reminder about this event this weekend. Looks like great weather and even better wheeling. :punk:

fabrikate_it 09-21-2012 09:24 AM

Bringing both the jeep and the RZR4!

Roadhawg 10-03-2012 09:03 AM

I need to get on this board more often, missed this :(

Fatty 10-03-2012 08:48 PM

Yep, it was a good time. We raised nearly 5k to give to the 3 charities. We will be dividing it up and sending out the checks in the next couple of weeks. Look for it again in 2013 around the same time of year.
