TSF weekday wheelin 8/1/12

I figured i'd start August off the right way with a little wheelin. For trails i'm thinking FB5, saddle up, hogs back hill climb, rocky uphill, waterfall and mabey stick in the nose. I'm anticipating dry weather. Plan to meet at the north plains chevron off HWY 26 at 9:30 am and depart at 9:45 :whistling:

Guys don't forget to post your events in the sticky thread. Not everyone looks at the forum. Some only look at the Sticky

I want to go but i am back to work that week

rvkillian 07-24-2012 10:02 PM

I may just have to take the day off work for this run. Not for sure, but put me down as probably.

Come to think of it, I have never been to TSF on a weekday. This will be a new experience!

Rogue-Tracker 07-25-2012 04:30 PM

Just took the day off too! Feel like I am play hooky.

Saddle up closed

Saddle up is now closed. I'm wondering if we should still run fb5 or just go straight to the archers area? We can still run the other trails I mentioned and add rock garden and possibly airplane hill. What's everyone think?

Did a mild run today with a few of the WF members. Ran in order:
  1. Browns Powerline
  2. Powerline (green/easy portion right after the Brown's Camp staging area)
  3. University Firepower (up and down)
  4. Powerline (blue section right up little rubicon, did not do little rubicon)
  5. Bates

Had a great time but now, I'm ready for the technical trails. I'm down for Archers. I heard Firebreak 5 is much more torn up, hence challenging...

dmingu001 07-29-2012 06:34 PM

Thanks for the run today Island. Had a great time

Yup, I had a great time too :). After doing a "once over" on the Jeep this afternoon, it appears that I have dented my brand new stainless steel Magnaflow muffler when I was climbing that rocky ledge at Browns Powerline :punk:, of all places. LOL, good times.

I am going to have to back out of this run. I tweaked something in my steering today that I can't quite figure out. Steering is now off center, and something is rubbing when I turn hard to the left or right at slow speeds.

I have checked the tires at full left or right, and they come nowhere near rubbing anything.

Also, the track bar is rubbing slightly on my ARB diff cover at full flex, but I think that is a separate issue because it doesn't rub on level pavement.

I have crawled around underneath and can find no obvious signs of trauma, so I am going to have to get it looked at by somebody.

Can anyone recommend someone on the west side? I was thinking about calling Accessory Outfitters.

On the West side, I trust Leonard.

jameslee97206 07-29-2012 10:54 PM

Id say u bent your tie rod or drag link. Thats why your steering wheel is not centered.

rvkillian 07-29-2012 11:20 PM

Tie rod looks straight, drag link looks like it bends downward slightly.

Shauna 07-30-2012 11:24 AM

I've been googling tsf trails....has anyone done Archers Firebreak?

rvkillian 07-30-2012 11:27 AM

That was one of the trails we ran yesterday.

Good trail for all types of builds, the bypasses are convenient and allows for stock or beginner drivers to remain close by and watch. I enjoy running Archers west to east.

Shauna 07-30-2012 02:20 PM

It looks fun!

Did you figure it out? You can re center your steering wheel using the adjuster sleeve on the drag link.
