New side steps give when I step on them. Should they?

I just installed new side steps on my 89 and when I step on them they give. What gives? Everything is tightened down well, should this happen? It has a lift kit on it does this effect it?

A little more info would be useful.
By saying "give", are you saying that they flex or is it giving at the mounting points? As a rule, no they should not give.

Oh and Welcome to the Forum.

Oh and Welcome to the Forum.

They flex, I bolted the brackets on and they are attached to rubber bushings on the jeep, I think these rubber bushings flex making the whole step flex? More info?

Yes they hooked on to the body mounts, Os there a way to prevent the flex or is that just how it is?

Alright thanks for the help!

If they are not mounted solid they will flex. Only way for them not to is mount them solid with not bushings.
