HELP!!! With maintainence of my 2006 Jeep

Ok.... So now I have come to a conclusion that I need a few things fixed.

Track Bar
Rear Main Seal
Clutch
Clutch Bearing?
Short Shifter
Exhaust System
Headers

Can a person with not much mechanical know-how do these type of fixes?
Or shoud I pay a mechanic $140 an hour to do it?

The Dealer is $90.00 an hour. $140.00 is way off. My guys are 70.00 and very dependable. Rear main seal and front transmission seal (automatic) was 935.00 parts and labor (included a new oil pump).

So what exactly are the issues with the items you listed? May not be as bad as you think although the clutch and rear main seal should be left to a professional. Besides the cost savings and satisfaction of getting to know your jeep, read up/search/ask questions here and attempt it yourself.

Now I'm really glad I did it myself! Mine's an '05 6 speed.
RMS - $12
Oil Pan gasket - $17
Oil Pump -$76

It took about 6 hours since I had never done it before and I took my time but fairly easy job.

As far as rear main seal here is a detailed walkthrough that anyone can pretty much do in their garage. Rear Main Seal Removal and Installation | MJR Features: Jeep Tech Writeups, Installations & Articles

Sorry guys, I'm from Australia and they charge $140 an hour... very expensive when the avergae person makes $800 a week

Rear Main seal is leaking oil..
Clutch sounds like it has problems..
Clutch Bearing is rattling away when clutch is out..
Short Shifter so the stock shifter does not feel loose..
Exhaust System so the engine breathes better..
Track Bar because the Jeep is pulling to the left and the mechanics say they cant allign the wheels more than they already have.

Thanks to everyone with the help

dont worry about the exhaust system, as long as everything is not plugged up your Jeep is fine, cold air intakes and headers dont help much in the Jeeps since they are already efficiently designed. What year is your Wrangler? 03-04 have the NV3550 tranny (mine) and they make a distinct "marbles in a can noise" when taking off from low gear, and they also make a weird noise at idle because they are naturally noisy truck transmissions with little insulation between you and it (only a carpet and the body). test the clutch by putting it in 5th gear, putting Ebrake on and press the gas/let clutch out, if it stalls its good if it doesnt your clutch is fried. good luck.
