it can't be worse than 3.73's with an auto 2010 and 37's.

so depending on the tire and how patient you are, it's totally good. (totally ok meaning, it was bearable for me)

but we got 37's in a 12' with 4.10 auto tranny and see no need for new gears, atm.

Same here. Running 35's on a 3.21 ratio and a 6in lift. Not saying Im not gonna regear when i have the cash saved up, but its by no means unbearable.

I have 305/70/17 KM2s (33.9") on my 2 door softie- I had intended on installing (heavy) 35" Toyos. You really need to dig to find the threads- but there are many, many posts about people with auto's really slowing down with 35s. Almost every manual has lost 6th gear. While some people have been happy, I found the majority to be missing the power. After spending way too much time researching I swapped to the smaller tire prior to install of my lift. With 34s I am okay- but a simple power draw like the A/C totally bogs it down. Personally (and I am a lead foot) I have decided that if I ever want 35s I'll have to fork over the money for a re-gear at the same time.
The question I finally asked was how important are 35" tires? Are you looking for better clearance or just for looks? At $1500 +- for a re-gear I went with smaller tires. I do however, have tire envy.
For some reason I can't post the email thread links to those other 3.21 posts- just search for "3.21s" and you'll get plenty of results.

Just had my lift done, jumped up to 35" MT/R's on 3.21's and I am actually surprised at how good it runs! Now, I needed the Pro Cal from AEV to get it all purring right but other than that, it is damn near a seamless transition... Very very pleased. Do it! :thumb:

I am by any means at all a mechanic or can I do anything myself..I want 33's and I have 3:21 on a 2012, and I was told yesterday, I may find sluggish acceleration, issues going up hills and some other stuff....I am doing it anyway, but I just assume the 35's would add to the problems. Let me know how it turns out

My 12 JKU is running on 35s with the 3.21 on an Auto with a 4" lift and its fine. Have no problems with acceleration or hills. That being said I still plan on regearing to 4.88 when the cash is available. May as well get the most i can out of the engine if i can

I've been researching a similar upgrade myself. I have a 2012 Sport 6 speed w/3.21. I was going to an AEV 2.5 dualsport with 33s.

Am I correct in thinking that the move up from the Sport S wheels tires (which are 32s I believe) and lift would be neglibible with the manual? My thinking is that the impact of drag and addition weight of the slightly larger wheels/tires would not be noticible...as long as the net weight difference between suspension/wheels/tires is minimal.

Trying to put off a regear to 4.10 until I can justify it...plus if it's livable I'd prefer the slightly better gass milage I'd get with the 3.21

I just installed DuraTrac 33's and I have 3.21's also. I put them at 28psi (versus over 35psi on the stock tires), and the acceleration definitely became more sluggish. I'll be airing them up to the high 30's tonight to see how much it improves.

Drove all 68 miles home from Stan's at 85mph with the AC on. Let's not talk about how much gas it used, but otherwise it was smooth as silk. Had to downshift for a hill (a big hill) but otherwise it was awesome. :thumb:

Even better yet, I can look down at all the little people I drive by now. :punk:

I also have 35's on a 4" lift on a two door 2012 JK and saw about 3 to 4 miles per gallon drop and just a very slight off the line power loss but other than that I love it.

just went from 33s to 35s w/ my 3.73s; I can tell a slight difference; especially at the gas pump. Of course, I'm also running KM2s now, so the added lugs are creating more resistance than the Courser ATs.
