295/70/R17 Trail Grapplers

Anybody running 295/70R17 Nitto Trail Grappler? If so could you please post some pics. I recently bought a 2012 JKU Sport and unfortunately I got the 3.21 gear ratiohttp://www.jk-forum.com/images/smilies/doh.gif. I'm a newb and didn't know better and after reading the forums after my purchase i was disappointed because I was wanting to run 35's. I plan on regearing but not anytime in the near future so i think i can settle with 295/70R17 to save some weight and power loss. Thanks for the help.

Thanks. No complaints performance wise so far, although they could look a little more aggressive :D. I have a little over 4,000 miles on them. I went with the Passenger rated tires instead of the Light Truck ones because I run more highway/state roads than other roads. In my particular case it actually gave me a 1 more MPG than the factory ones. I have also taken them for a brief tour in the sand and the performed excellent. They allowed the jeep to float right on top with minimal need for 4wd (I didn't try the stock ones so I cant compare too much). In addition the Passenger tires a lighter then the Light Truck ones if you are concerned about weight, and in my case they were lighter than the stock Rubi tires. I have yet to try winter driving with them but it looks like that's not an issue for you.

I'm new to all this stuff, but that seems like a huge drop in gas mileage for a very small change in tire size. Could it be anything else? I'm thinking of going from my stock 32s to some more aggressive 33s (3.73 ratio), but not if it will drop mileage that much.

Did you re-calibrate for the tire change? You might see your mileage come back if you haven't.
