^^^Thats the auto^^^

and the manual short throw...

http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/d...epthing/54.jpg

and the factory shifter with the B&M handle...

I'm not a fan of the short throw shifters, or automatics, but the t-handle was worth the $10 I paid for it. It was nice, but I still prefer the factory knob.

(its more of a console shot, but I don't have a Jeep on hand to take a new pic)

Thanks.

I'm very happy with it because now with the short shifter and my 3" extension i dont have a 80" stroke from first to second gear lol

I have a 2" bl and 1" tcase drop so my shifter went down 3" from the stock position, thats why i have to use an extension to keep it located where the stock level was.

I loved the short stroke of it before i had the extension but it even now its still better than it was stock.

Again i'm very happy with the short throw

here you go dude :) some install pics

There is a gasket that goes on the "bottom" of the stock shifter while for the B&M you use RTV or whatever that liquid gasket stuff was.

Dry Fit to make sure it fits before you glue anything.

looks nice I may get one.

potatobill 04-20-2008 11:44 PM

what size is the stick? I want to replace my knob and dont know what size insert I need.

Triple88a 04-21-2008 12:47 AM

what do you mean the stick? you mean the thread size?

No idea but most shifters come with those plastic inserts that you forcefully tighten on the shifter and then slide the knob over and then tighten some setscrews that hold it. At first i thought what is this crappy thing. Well now i take it all back. Mine is very stable.

potatobill 04-21-2008 04:10 PM

hey trip, yeah the thread adapter i guess would be a better name. thanks

foxinthemudd 04-21-2008 07:44 PM

I bought one right after trip did. I love mine I can grab gears quick and such only thing that does need to go is the stock knob ya need a t-handle for the thing...

Triple88a 04-21-2008 07:47 PM

i donno i like the round knobs instead of the t handles better. For me its more comfortable.

Why did you opt for the auto?

Triple88a 04-22-2008 09:41 AM

Auto is better for crawling.
