Oil Change Thread ?

Iam do for a oil change too, last time I took it to Wally World...............they over filled it. Anyway, from the "Oil Change" thread I have a filter pegged, and I will probably use Valvoline, or Havoline, but how many quarts? Iam assuming 5, but I want to make sure. I will be doing my own oil change this time. I used to do it myself on other vehicles some years ago, but the Wally World prices seemed to be reasonable, so I just brought it to them, but as I said before those monkeys don't seem to know what they are doing. After I discovered it (the next day) I called them and all the Service Mgr. wanted to do was argue about it................great customer service. I still change the oil in my motorcycles, so I figured that I just as well do the Jeep too, especially since I will not need to jack it up. Thanks, Scooby

What engine do you have in your jeep? That will help us tell you how much oil you will need.

Also an oil change thread you could read...

Sorry about that, I gues that would help! 2002 Sport with a I6. Thanks again, Scooby

keep in mind fully synthetic Mobil 1 @ Wally World is only a couple bucks more than all the others now. I've been paying $21 for 5 qt jug of M1 for last year or so.

Yeah thats the way to go but it sucks when you have to buy the 6th quart for like 5.75. lol

Why not just buy 5 jugs... it's not like it's going to go bad or expire. We usually go buy 10 at a time and now that they sell Mobil-1 filters it's a one stop shop for me. Not to mention they stick the Mobil-1 filters in plastic so they store well on the shelf. Some of the open cardboard boxes can get some surface rust after a few months in a damp cellar. I've been sticking them in zip loc bags.
We now have 3 XJ's, 3 TJ's, one ZJ in the family so that 10 jugs does not go that far...

Then you'll only be 5 quarts short when it's time for that 5th oil change. ;) :D
