Wrangler 2012 Unltd GTA-Gas Question

Looking to get a 2012 Unlimited pretty soon. Just want to know how many Km's you get on a full tank driving in the GTA. Also, what are you paying on avg per month on gas since you got the 2012?

Cheers,

Effi

Effi 08-15-2012 08:21 AM

Am i correct to assume that with 2012 wrangler 4dr sahara i should be getting 650-850 Km per tank????

FreezerJeep 08-15-2012 08:32 AM

I'm in Edmonton and I'm usually around 600 on a 2012 jku with 6 speed.

I'm not light footed but I don't race around either. I also have the bfg mud terrains so maybe the a/t on the Sahara will help a bit.

I just recently bought a 2012 Sahara Unlimited (also am in GTA) and at my last fill up I was at 580ish kms but still had about 20 litres left in the tank. Cost me about $85 for about 65 litres.

I do a mixture of hwy and city driving and have a manual transmission.

Hope this helps!

what..!!! i live in pickering, driving a 2007 JK 2drs and im doing 500 a month... and that's TOP...

HI NewJeepGirl12,

Where did you get your jeep? I've been to 6 or 7 dealers and hated my experiences with the sales-people.

Also, if they claim that we are to get 10-13 L / 100 Km, then the 2012 drivers should be getting more than 600 Km per tank!

Ya..u have the 3.8L....the 2012+ have the 3.6L pentastar. Completely different engine.

2012 is all aluminum with 285hp and 266ft/lab torque.

Your is 205hp and 245ft/lb torque.

Plus the pentastar is rated for better gas mileage.

85L tank.

85(Liters)/13(L/100km)=6.53

6.53x100(km)=653km per tank.

85/10=8.5

8.5x100=850km per tank.

I don't know of anyone thats averaging 10L/100km tho. I managed 9.8 once. 6th gear at 100km/hr behind a semi for about 125km on flat land....

But 13L/100km is realistic. And thus u should get about 650km to the tank. Which is why I say expect 600km....unless u let it run dry all the time....hahaha jk.

Hey there...I ended up getting mine from a dealer out in Durham Region because our local dealership didn't even have a manual transmission on the lot for me to test...and I was impatient lol

I generally don't like dealing with salespeople at all but who really does? lol...this is only the second vehicle I have ever bought new and generally I always found it better to take someone along with me regardless of who it was...for some reason I get different treatment than when I am by myself...not sure why but...

Like I said I have always filled up with some left in the tank (usually because of driving out to the cottage or up north and not wanting to have to stop part the way there to get gas) so I don't have an accurate amount of km's per tank so far...may later on this week...

I never expect to get the L/100km they state right off the bat (sometimes at all) with any vehicle. My last vehicle (though very different than a jeep) was almost a year and a half old before I got the mileage I should have hahaha

When are you hoping to buy?

Damn... !! it made sense all you said... :thumb: thanks...

Yeah my 07 JK Unlimited 6 spd was getting 480 km per tank... Until I put on the Rubicon tires... Then it dropped down to right around 400 per tank - and I wasn't heavy-footed.

The new engine was one of the big reasons I went new instead of getting a used one... Can't wait to pick it up on Tues... :D

I have the 4 door JKU 2012 Sahara. Automatic. I just checked mine this morning. I am averaging 15.3/100km.

Newbsauce 01-19-2013 08:01 AM

I picked up my 2013 on Tuesday. 64 litres got me just over 400 km. Combination of city/highway(drove up to Rama Thursday).

So about 16/100km

Not great, not terrible

DAMN, my 6.2 L Camaro gets 12.5-13L/100KMs mostly city driving.......LOL

RazoRock 01-19-2013 10:44 PM

I'm getting about 14.5 to 14.8 on my 2013 4dr, mix of city and highway, super light foot, ECO mode usually showing ON. Bank on 15L per 100, and be very very happy if you get 13!

RevCo666 01-19-2013 10:58 PM

Wish i got that kind of mileage but its the nature of the beast...

BTW just just out of curiosity, what do you pay at the pump atm? Im paying 125.7/lt for regular unleaded in my town(about 5 hour north of Toronto).

Dan2012 01-20-2013 01:58 PM

With the winter weather I was running in 4wd for a good stretch in my 2012 jk Sahara UL and was getting about 17/100km. 2wd was about 14-15.

Dan2012 01-20-2013 02:02 PM

125.7? Ouch. We've seen that here in Otown too but right now its about 117ish last I checked. A few places were running 111 the other day. Was a good day to top the tank :)

Actually 125.7cent/lt is cheap atm... For a while it was well over the 1.30$ mark... I dont drive much due to health issues but when I need to get to the hospital, atleast I know my TJ will get me there in the worse weather. Last year, I was driving just a rear wheel truck... Now that was madness in bad snow weather up here... Part of the reason I sold my old truck and got my TJ.

There's never a bad reason to buy a jeep :)

You got that right! :punk:

Its funny, I had to drive 6 hours to Stittsville(near Ottawa) to buy my jeep last summer! Everything I looked at locally was either rusted to hell or off-roaded badly. That was a tricky drive back as I never drove a jeep before hehe

Dan2012 01-22-2013 09:18 AM

I find that the Ottawa area is really loaded with Jeep dealers considering the population base. And with the local dealership rivalries (the Butler - Dilawri feud is legendary) you can usually swing some good deals.

I bought my jeep from a private sale... I always preferred it that way when buying a vehicle mind you when I bought my last truck(2000 Mazda b3000) I had to deal with a used car sales man in my local area and after that experience, never again.

Understood...I was able to play the dealers off each other and ended up with a reasonably equipped Sahara for the price of a basically stock Sport...mind you it helped that they couldn't find exactly what I wanted so they had to go up or lose the sale =D

Im assuming your Wrangler gives you that reading? Thats one option I wish I had

I just filled up my tank which was a little over the 1/4 mark and cost me 61$ to fill. My odometer showed that i drove 148km from full... Decided tonight to buy new o2 sensors for the front and change em out when the weather warms up this weekend. (currently -32c amt without the windchill.) as i think im have issues with my millage. Cant hurt to swap it out...

Newbsauce 01-24-2013 12:09 AM
