Max tire size

What is the max tire size that you can put on without a lift?

SurfKaster 08-14-2012 02:16 PM

31s

UnlimitedLJ04 08-14-2012 02:20 PM

And even with this size you may or may not have to adjust the steering stop on both sides to prevent the tires from rubbing at full turn. :thumb:

loaded question. by no lift I assume you mean stock. then a 31 is as big as you can really go. minor cutting and maybe new wheels 32s, little more cutting and new wheels 33s, lots of cutting and new wheels 35s.

Imped 08-14-2012 02:33 PM

This has never been asked before.

zr.despain14 08-14-2012 02:38 PM

I did mean stock yes thanks 😄

This is exactly why people hate asking questions on this forum, who cares if it has been asked before, you didn't have to reply

If people would search then they more than likely would no longer have a question to ask since it would be answered by the infinite other posts asking the same thing. :wavey:

When i picked mine up from the dealer this summer...it was a stock 2006. And was sittin on stock canyon rims and 33x10.50 BFG mud terrains. With no lift at all the scrubbing was minor at full turns. Which could be overcome i guess by limiting the turn radius. Made no difference to me as i was lifting it anyhow, but figured i would share that.

Almost everything you could ask has probably been asked before. If people only "searched" there would be no more WF...

Once again, don't reply if your going to be rude, very simple, you could have nicely said to the OP to search the forum :)

Exactly! Why do people think they have to be rude and make the person feel dumb?

I agree but I cant because people are always pushing the envelope and actually trying new things and new products come out all the time for our Jeeps which would be enough to keep the conversations going. There is more than enough going on in the land of Jeep to keep a forum up without the help of the same basic questions being asked day in and day out. I'd be surprised if I went 5 pages back in this section and didn't find a thread with this exact same question. Give a man a fish, teach a man to fish. One is going to be more helpful in the long run. He has his answer, I'm out. :punk:

Yep. Simple resourcefulness. I'm sure the OP is educated enough to know the definition of "research."

bc3_Jeep 08-14-2012 04:07 PM

It would help greatly if the search allowed for boolean operators......... the search engine on here returns WAY too many results and causes a great deal of reading of unrelated materials.....

theBigNick1987 08-14-2012 04:44 PM

Well I research my questions and I am very in depth when i seek to learn something. I'm researching things about lifting my TJ. Ive heard mixed reviews some say buy good tires leave it stock some say lift her up. So my first two questions was what is the larger consensus to lift or not. From that question I asked myself well what size tires can I fix with no lift. This was the first post that came up. I got my answer but the entire post is non-useful bickering. I'm new here yes but I have to agree with Annienaaron09 whats the point of posting something if your rude and not helpful. (And they do it to boost their ego because they are insecure the only reason any person belittles a person.) As a new jeep owner I have many questions!!! Most are answered overall through the forums I follow. But I have had questions that yes there are forums about but don't necessarily answer my question. Veterans to the forum like Imped make new guys like me hesitant to ask and that's ridiculous to me. Well thats my two cents.

Imped 08-15-2012 07:22 AM

Google "max tire size TJ" and tell me you don't find your answer within one minute.

theBigNick1987 08-15-2012 05:10 PM

I stated I found my answer. I merely agreed with Annienaaron09 that you could have just skipped over the post or said there are many posts about this. Basically your delivery is lacking aka it weak. Just saying bud that if all members are like you than the site would be a pissing contest and nothing would get answered. If you have nothing helpful to say than don't. Trust I know how to work a search engine. Not all questions are answered though. So should someone fear asking a question cause a d1@k like you is gonna scold them thats ridiculous bud.

bc3_Jeep 08-22-2012 10:43 AM

Searching.....

I just did a search with your "critera" and got 56 results...... this is not user friendly and would not be an issue with boolean operator use.

People who are new to group would be far less inclined to "ask already asked" questions if the results could be pared down to reasonable lists.....
