Not Yet Official, Any Tips?

Hello, Jeep Lovers,

I have joined this forum because I'm considering joining your ranks as a proud Jeep owner. I have found a 99 Jeep Wrangler SE with 127k at a used car dealership. Asking price is 6400. I've test driven it and checked it out...the dealer is a liar, of course. He told me it has been his Jeep for the last 3 years and he has decided he doesn't want it just sitting around any more. But he didn't know where the release button was to get the key out of the ignition.

It has no back seat and I have a little one (yes, this will be my main ride. Day care, work, and back every day.) But I know where the Jeep yards are, so I can get one. It's glovebox falls out.

What should I look at to determine if I want to rescue this Jeep from this criminal? Any special Jeep Owner clues? If I do decide to buy her, can I find a "who rescued who?" Jeep sticker like they sell at the pet stores? Seriously though, any advice here is more than welcome. Thank you for your time and I am very pleased to meet you.

Make sure you check the underside to see how rough it's been orr-roaded and (of course) get a Carfax report.

Thank you for the welcome and the advice! The carfax is clean. 32 records and they are a couple new owners and regular maintenance. I think it will be a good ride if I make sure to maintain it. Hubby is going to test drive it tomorrow and see what he thinks. :)
