ROKMEN Control Arms - New Offerings!!!
We are expanding our offering for the TJ/LJ with another lower control arm option as well as new rear upper arms.

ROKMEN lower and upper arms feature 3/8" wall DOM tubing and utilize factory OEM CleviteŽ bushings as well as genuine forged Currie Johnny Joints. All ROKMEN arms are fully TIG welded, utilizing two welding passes for a super strong assembly. The first root pass and second filler pass guarantee a solid bond and plenty of weld deposit for a bomb proof control arm.

The new lower option for the TJ/LJ features Currie Johnny Joints on both ends of the arm, giving you the ultimate in flexibilty throughout the axles range of motion. Also included is a greseable bolt, making the arm fully greasable at both ends for long life!

The new rear uppers come in two versions, one for those running a stock style rear driveshaft and the other for those with a C/V style rear driveshaft. Also constructed from 3/8" wall DOM tubing and genuine forged Currie Johnny Joints.

So why have you dumped the clevite bushing? The second currie on each arm was not available when I bought mine just a few short months ago. :(:banghead:

I'll be ordering the rear uppers from you soon, but what about the the front uppers? How long until they will be available too as I may just wait and order fronts and rears together

woah now -- don't spread rumors... ;) The lowers with bushings have not been replaced. The JJ -to- JJ is just a different option we now have available, both types are availble.

Not spreading rumors, I just was wondering why I didn't have that option when I orderd my arms. Now :( I know. But what are the pros & cons to the Currie/Currie vs. Clevite/Currie. Can they be mixed between upper and lowers? Or should I stay with the Clevite/Currie for my uppers too.

Will not make a difference if you mix them - but it will change the consistency of what you are shooting for.

Some design characteristic of Arms and bennifits etc:

Bushing - Bushing = All flexing as to be done by binding and forcing the bushing to flex, this leads to premature wearing out of the bushings, and stress on the mounting brackets as forced flex of the bushings is transmitted ot them. Ride quality is generally good becasue of the vibration resistance of good rubber bushings. (Poly bushings, are another story)

Bushing - Johnny Joint = The majority of the flex is natural and free movement absorbed by the Johny joint, it's not forced to flex so to speak. This reduces the amount load the bushing and mounts are being asked to do, extending their life. Having a rubber bushing on one end helps ease concerns of vibrations being transmitted to the chassis.

Johny Joint - Johnny Joint = All flex is natrual and free, greatly reducing stress on axle and frame mounts. A little more vibration is being transfered to the chassis - but It's very arguable if anyone can really notice it once you move the jeep away from stock form, and complient street tires etc.

It's mainly if you run a CV driveshaft - CV driveshafts require you to tilt your rear pinion upwards - which is done primarily by extending your rear upper control arms. Since most CV intallations are done on jeeps with 4+ inches of lift - the length the uppers have to extend to is greater than if you ran a non CV shaft.

General Rules of thumb:
CV shafts require you to point the pinion up -> which is usually accomplished by extending the upper arms.

Non-CV shafts, with some lift, usually always require you to point the pinion down -> which is usually accomplished by extending the lower control arms.
